Ok, so for the longest time I h8'd anything created by real, realplayer, realaudio, realone etc etc etc. But I think I have finally turned, real suffers from the same BS as netscape did when microsoft bundled IE with windows, in the longrun its a better media player.

But anyway the program I have been messing with is called RealOne Rhapsody basicly what it is, is a legal napster. Now you can argue to me that music should be free, but when it comes right down to it, it's like your walking into a CD store and ripping a CD off the shelf then running out with it. Make whatever argument you want that's what it comes down to :p The cost is 9.95/mo for a shitload of songs and albums. If you wnat to try it you can for 14 days. I'd reccomend folks give it a try, I think it's worth it myself.

Don't worry I'm not gonna start banning people for using MP3's

Hey Hamma, can you answer a quick question about it for me please? Is it $9.95 a month for unlimited downloads? Do you download from a central server, or do you have to hope and pray that some weenier out in Internet land has the song you want, in a non-shit quality, and has more then a 0.5K/sec upload speed?

If it is unlimited downloads do you get to keep them after you stop paying? And lastly, can you use the service on multiple PCs?

:o

We either support Real, Apple, or the RIAA if we buy discs.

The only solution is to create the PSU band.

I use iTunes, good deals. Instead of buying a cd with only one song you enjoy you can buy it alone for 99 cents or buy the cd. RealOne sounds like a good idea too tho.

I thought Real was the devil too, then i opened my mind. I suggest you do the same. You have to support someone in this world, like it or not companies need to make fucking money

And to answer your quesiton, its from a central server.

It won't give you more info unless you sign up, exactly the same thing Napster 2.0 tried to do... That is the dumbest policy I have ever heard of... "Lets not tell customers about our product, I bet they will buy it just to find out what it is!"

You can not get an album list, details on why it costs $0.79 to burn a song, but $14.95 per month? What do you get for the $14.95, just the honor of paying $0.79 per song?

PSU Nat'l Band:

Some guy with a rubber band stretched out over a tissue box singing "BAN BAN BAN BAN BAN" while plucking the lone band.

You are unable to get that information until you sign up... All of the buttons on the page Hamma sent us to lead to signing you up, no where could I find even the most basic information about what the service actually is.

With iTunes, there is no monthly fee, and you get to view the song list and info before you sign up.

Hamma is one picky mfer. So if this service actually prompted a thread by Hamma, is must be atleast a little good. I'm just afraid there punk selection may be lacking.

Can you search for "Type O Negative" they have four albums, Bloody Kisses, October Rust, World Coming Down, and Life Is Killing Me. If they have Type O, then I will be impressed slightly ;)

Also can you search for Paul Oakenfold, he has a ton of CDs.

So is it really unlimited downloads, or do they just stream? If they are downloads, how do they prevent you from burning them for free, if burns are $0.79 each?

They are on there but their music is not - that means that real has not gotten the rights yet, but chances are they will. It lists all their albums and songs just not avail yet
