View Full Version : Outfit/clan/guild 'tags'
Will it be necessary in PS to have '[ps]Sol' as a name to show outfit affiliation? Or will there be an info box like in other mmo's that show a persons guild?
I'm assuming they wont be needed, but I'd like to know for sure.

Rogue13 has stated that outfit tags are built in, you don't have to manually include them in your name.

Wouldn't be surprised if your name couldn't have anything but letters in it either.

Could be like DAoC, where the outfitname is in brackets or <> under the name.

I guess it really doesnt matter as long as its there somewhere:D
i'm hoping they are actual "tags" and not like the mmorpg style where it has the entire name next to your nick.

Such as he would like to see [spd] instead of the entire name 'smooth pimp daddies'. Just to keep it short and sweet and to the point.

Warborn I hope the implement a good naming policy so we dont see names like '.'-=l334 SUPAH KILLER ph3ar me-='.'
I think it should be restriced to just letters and maybe a few numbers. You couldn't have a name that is all numbers for example.
If you really want something like a '.'.'-=eet in your name them maybe they would allow you to do that in a tag.
How do other people feel about people with stupid names and what do you think the naming policy should be if there is one?
P.S. Im not talking about your guys names. They're fine.
Talking about ppl that have names like 334MeXiCaNsAuSage

I agree. It's really unnecessary to have silly names using numbers instead of letters and so forth.
people who have numbers in their name think your name is stupid b/c it DOESN'T have numbers in it.
it doesn't mean either of you are right.

I agree with afex, I think l33t names are stupid, but I think that if someone wants to have them, they should be able to. The advantage is that we can laugh at them when the game comes out. :p

The name is every bit as important as the gear you choose. People like to customise there name and characters to suit there personality and gaming style. I admit it would look cleaner and simpler without all the other characters in a persons name but, you take away from the personality and the customisation of there character/s and game.

Also it increases the number of possible names, and some tags/names look good with numbers in them, just like you would capitalize some letters.

On a serious note, we have yet to learn about clan tags for a fact. I hope they are attached/builtin to your name.

I'm all for allowing people to have their names say whatever they want. I tend to hunt down the people with a lot of numbers in their names first because it usually means they are about twelve years old.
