I guess technically everything looks to be in order, but a Radeon 9800 for $177? I still wouldnt trust it...MSRP on a non pro is like $250-$300 I do believe.

Edit: I looked around and the ONLY 9800's i can find, even near that price range are SE's. Which means they are probably the lowest level 9800 there is. You are probably just better off getting a 9600XT

Maybe they jsut released a special low price 128 9800 do push hte 9800s? its not even a pro so its not that big of a thing. Try it for that price! Oh its not ATI either its powercolour. Isnt all of there stuff that cheap?

Edit: See they just made a cheaper basic version of the card. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?DEPA=1&submit=manufactory&catalog=48&manufactory=1419&description=&Order=priceD

The 9600xt is only 2 dollars less 8)

Yes, its a modified ATI, and no all their stuff isnt that cheap ;). I'm telling you, they downgraded a 9800 and called it the 9800SE, hence the cheap price. The 9600XT is pretty much the same price and i can almost garauntee that it is equal or better than the 9800SE, plus it can more than likely be overclocked easier than the 9800SE.

Yeah se is no good. However Omega drivers give you an option to soft-mod it into the 9800 Pro.

the 9800SE is a dumbed down version of the 9800. The only two cards I would conceive of getting for under $300 are the 9600XT's or 9800pro's. It's very hard to find a 9800XT 128Mb card also. It only comes with the 256Mb flavor. And for $400+, IMO not worth it.

i would not touch the SE with a 10ft pole. your better off getting a 9600XT for that money

the rady 9800 SE is a gimped version of the 9800, it is a ATI reference card (not a mod of any sort)has a 128 bit memry bus and it has only 4 pipelines. I would get the 9600xt or pro.
