Yea, you guys are right about the lag. I got into a huge firefight and I was lagging so bad, I could not even shoot straight. I guess I might need to add some stuff to my computer.

nice computer + good internet connection + (planetside + zerg) = LAG

Yeah huge zergs denote alot of lag. thats why if I can I like to go off with a smaller group. or if I'm stuck with a zerg I'll stay away from the fight by sniping or getting my lightning and picking off the straglers.

Because of PlanetSide's movement-prediction algorithm, anyone who says they don't lag is either very unobservant or not entirely honest.
Then again, lag is really an array of symptoms, so some people don't know what they're supposed to be looking for.

Agreed, there is connection lag and frames per second lag. Which one you have...dunno. I have DSL so I have frames lag.

Umm, i have very fast cable and a fast comp. I never notice any lag. Except the fact that ppl dont show up dead right away, but this occured after a patch and i dont think its lag, though i could be wrong i suppose...

512 DDR266
1.4ghz AMD Athlon
Radon 9600 XT 128meg
SoundBlaster Audigy2 ZS
With the graphics turned as low as they'll get, I frequently experience fps lag, even in non-zerg situations.

Haha none of you guys can beat my Geforce 2 with a 1giga PIII with a half gig of ram none of you should complain till you try playing PS with this system in a zerg or even at all. As soon as I get my new windows cd my new comp will be up and running tho (AMD 2500+, Geforce 5900, 512 ram, and cable connection) now what homey I'll stop ranting now and go back to bed

I get FPS problems during large zergs. I try to avoid leaving a Reaver if possible, 15-20 FPS is easy to deal with and doesn't hamper that much in the air. On the ground, it becomes a little more troublesome.
If you tweak your system right and have the proper ingame settings, FPS can get pretty good. I only get 20 or lower consistently in the situations where there is 2 massive enemy forces at bases next to eachother. Other than that, I don't get noticable frame loss.
I have a p4 1.9 | FX5600 | 1GB DDR333 and am on 512 ADSL

I mean its not just a little lag...its a hell of a lot. I have DSL, so I know its not connection lag. Its good when I am just walking around in a little group, but when the fire fights break out, I can barely move, much less shoot accurately.

2.26ghz
512MB RAM
120GB hard drive
65MB SDRAM
GeForce4MX440 Vid card (I know but I'm not wasting money on a new one)
Soundblaster live sound card
All and all I don't have much lag unless in big battles then its just FPS lag. it ususally drops down to around 9.0FPS but I get an average of 45-55 anywhere else.
The three kinds of PS lag by Vick:
Connection lag, get off your 56k.
Graphics lag, update your graphics card.
CPU lag, shows itself in your FPS, update your CPU/memory.
Low FPS can be caused by your CPU/memory having trouble with the physics and all the MMO info that is getting processed, or by your graphics card not doing its thing well enough.
I had a 9700pro, AMD 1700+, and 1gig of shit sdram. I ran the game at max settings, and I got the same damn CPU lag that I got at minimum settings. I upgraded to a 2800+, and a gig of Corsair XMS ddr400, and I get almost no lag. Unless, I go up in a reaver, then my FPS drop sence my CPU has to process a whole lot more "MMOG info" and physics shit and stuff I dunno about.
