Why was Planetside such a dissapointment? I personally thought it did and is doing very well

This is a tough call. The field is so glutted that without amazing advertisement budgets, good games get swept under the rug (Chrome, for example).

PlanetSide wins on technical merit, that's for sure. KotOR is up there, too. So many good titles, really.

But no Halflife 2. Damned insider piracy.

It was hyped too much. Was told from the begining it was gonna own... but the launch and the bugs made it real bad to handle and I don't know if I would actually want to go back and play...

God this doesnt work out... Not everyone gets to play ALL the games to judge. As Viper had 3 games, those are probably 3 of the dozen or less games he got to REALLY try this year.

basicly what Spider said,it was hyped about too much and got my hopes up then I play it and was like "wtf is this crap?" just wasnt what I thought it COULD have been

My view on Planetside is that it is a good game, but after 2 months or even 1.5, it gets old. The epic battles are fun, but once you capture a base for the 70th time, it feels old. After br 20 there was no insentive for me to play.

What makes PS fun for me (after BR20), is just getting those nice kills. Hunting MAXes. Besting the surgiles. Taking out a wounded Magrider with a Lightning.

THAT'S what keeps the game fresh for me, besting the enemy.

Well, I'm extremely shallow so I was just playing to constantly maintain a higher br then friends, while sacrificing them to stay alive for good xp. :lol:
