My PC will FINALY be done net week!! Quick question...

Can i get the links to the PS free trials that are out there? Ive played PS since day #1 but on my dads PoS PC. I havent played since October but i FINALY purchased the final parts to MY PC, which will arrive next week. Im flat broke till next payday, which my insurance needs to be paid :( so i need a free trial for a while. But here is my new custom PC :)

Pentium 4 2.8ghz, 800mhz FSB

Albatron PX865PE Pro2 motherboard (supports 1.2ghz FSB, my processor can be OC'd to run at 3.5ghz)
-built in 8 channel audio and 10/100/1000 NIC

Radeon 9600pro 128mb 8xAGP (more than good for now but will upgrade soon :)

1-1/2ghz Corsair TWINX XMS3200 DDR400mhz low latt dual channel RAM (only have 512mb now)

Dual 120ghz, 7200rpm, 8mb harddrives

Windows XP Pro

19" Sony monitor running at 1280x1024@85hz

5.1 surround sound (dont have yet, just two speakers for now)

If i use that 30day trial dont i have to DL the WHOLE game? I want to be able to install the disks then update because the updates alone are enough, even on my 384k DSL i would think.

umm....Yes, you MUST download the game. Otherwise you can go to your local computer store and buy it on a disk, then update.

I have PlanetSide already so can i install that then update and use the trial? Anyways, how long would it take to DL all updates on a 384k DSL? Also, how long if i had to DL the WHOLE game and updates?

I think it will work if you already have it on disk. Load it into your computer, have them email you your code, and enter it in and see if it works. It only updates after you type in your login and password.

It took about 6-7 hours to DL on cable for me.

it works i use my old Beta CD to put PS on

After I installed PS from CD, the update took about 45min on cable. But according to the conection speed test I just took, this ISP gives me 363kps to d/l with.

I don't think there is a 7-day trial anymore, but if you have a real life friend ask him to get you a buddy key and then ask him to borrow his Planetside CDs cause it doesn't work with the version that you get online.

I still have the "trial for a friend" that came with the game, can i use it myself?

Nope, not anymore just use that 7 day trial for a friend or make a seperate account and trade weapons with it
