You're 14, and you have a car?

It's illegal to drive at 14.

I'm joking. But it's so bare, I wouldn't be surpised if 10 year olds are driving. (I don't live in Wyoming)

i don't have a car and i'm turning 16 next month! YOu can get a learners permit at 14 that lets you drie with a parent and close family members, then a Restricted lisense at 15 that lets you drive to work and school alone here

Actually I just bought a disposable camera to put in my glove box in case this happens again... This way I'd have proof of what damage actually occurred to each vehicle (so the other guy can't bang up his pickup door thingie that goes to the bed and claim it was from my car). I'll have pics soon enough, minus the random pieces that flew out while I was driving back to SLO-town.

Understandable. I'm quite relieved that no one got hurt. I was in the stage of "omgf omfg wtfs just happened? That didn't happen. I used my brakes. omfg omfg. <cue semi-hysterical crying>"

Nothing makes you lose your mind more then a car crash...

I got hit from behind by some ass in a Ford F350 truck doing 900 mph on a side street while I was stopped at a stop sign, and after I realized what happened I was so pissed I started to jump out of my car (to do what, I have no clue) when I realized my seat belt was still on, and my car screamed at me because I opened the door and the car was still in drive.

Amazingly the truck went completely above my bumper, crunched everything, then sat down on top of my bumper... So the back of my bumper, the thing that is supposed to set my airbags off, was totally missed!

That's exactly why I keep a baseball bat in my car!

I got 2 weeks of anger management because of that! The guy t-boned me while burning a stop sign (not doing it) my car was smashed his was damaged to the point where it couldnt start up as fast I got out and started screaming at the poor bastard while hitting the car with the baseball bat . No more tail-lights or side view mirror for that tercel!

We were going about 40 in LA traffic (Hwy 101) when a pickup truck came into my lane. Maybe a minute latre, he taps on his brakes and I put pressure on mine. Then I realised that he was practically stopped and I was getting closer, so I put the brake pedal to the floor, but we didn't stop in time... So my car went crunch (it looks a bit retarded right now, the headlights are cross-eyed and there's a huge fold in the hood, which can't be raised) and the pickup had like 2 scratches in the rear bumper dealie.

It was one of the scariest moments of my life. I had one of those surreal moments where I was afraid I'd be the only one who was just fine (Squeeky and my bf were with me), and I'd done something terrible. Thankfully, everyone was understanding, even if the pickup's driver didn't speak good English.

Whats funny is the guy that hit me works for a construction company that does a lot of work on businesses in the local area (he hit me with the company truck)... I am a network consultant, so I am at upwards of three new local companies every day. It was not more then four weeks after he hit me that I was walking into a client and guess who was doing some work on the front of this building. We didn't say anything, but we both knew who each other was :)

Thats cause your computer guy sucks :) Half of being a consultant is being sociable and able to connect with a client. Next time kick him in the nuts and tell him he sucks. :D

And I don't have any bad blood with him, he wanted to forgo contacting insurance (and then his company) so I took the highest estimate to him, and he forked over nearly $4,000 in cash. I was able to repair 99% of the damage myself for under $500 and pocket the rest.

Ech, as far as the car thing goes... As a starving college student, I can't afford to fork over more than about $500 right now. That much is going to kill me, as it's rent for one month and my only source of income is fin.aid...

Anyway, the computer guy.. He's creepy. He does LARPGs, is smelly, has long hair and small teeth, and has a scary laugh. I hope I NEVER see him again. Ever.

Meh. I have 15 Cert points, enough in my state (FL) to get a Learner's, but my parents won't let me spend them.

However, they both secretly promise to let me drive offroad and in parking lots.
