JUST KIDDING!!!!!! I wouldn't do that to you guys.
How about creating a new implant that allowed the soldier to climb steep surfaces including cliffsides & trees? Snipers would love this thing methinks. They could climb only for about 6-8 seconds as it would drain stamina very quickly.
Hopefully this has not been discussed here before. If it has I apologize.

it would be fun, what if you could climb on cavern ceilings to?

But no one goes in the caverns.

We were talking about implants like this in TS2 ingame the other day. Here are a couple we came up with:
1. Fabrication (sheet metal) Implant = Allows you to pick up pieces of destroyed vehicles and weld them to your vehicle. Such as welding the guns from a Vanguard onto a Prowler turret. Or welding an AA max onto the top of the Prowler for AA.
2. Carpentry Implant = So you could cut down trees and make siege machines to attack the walls with. You could also build ladders to climb the walls as well. (Combined with the Fabrication Implant, you could weld steel plates onto the siege maching for better armor.)
Mine are kinda' for fun, but the climbing one is pretty cool.

I think that would be cool as a Rexo alternative.
Maybe for 3 certs you can get Rexo, or take a Rexo with 125 armor and a rebreather to allow you to walk underwater.
Or the Rexo with 125 armor and climbing spikes to let you scale hills and ledges.
Or...an agile type armor that comes with rexo cert that muffles the tracer fire so that nobody knows where you're shooting from, except for the guy that got hit...hmmm(doesn't work for sniper rifles, sorry! Why? cuz that's a little silly).

Sounds like a good idea, I always hate it when you try to climb those cliffs to get some where but instead you end up having to walk all the way around the cliff. Would be very good on mountainous continents. If this implant came out I would give it a shot.

Or how about, I know, jet pack rexo like the vs have on their maxes.

How about a grappling hook style item that allows quick running over walls. Useful in tower and base battles while not allowing for extreme exploitation(something like the "sticky" implant would be easily exploited somehow)

I would love the climbing or grapleing hook. Would be a great addition to allow infiltrators new access points into bases.
A climbing implant should drain endurnace faster with the heavier armors(ala, surge/Silent run). The grapleing hook should allow slower elevation with heavier armors.
The grapleing hook should allow lower elevation with heavier armors.
*envisions MAX hanging from the side of a base VVV-ing*

I like the wall climb implant idea for infiltrators. However, I only think it would be complete if everytime it's activated the game plays "Spiderman, Spider man...does whatever a spider can..." in your headphones.

Ah, how about not, the fucks who jump out of the skeets give me enough problems, don't need anymore surgile pricks coming down from the roof, and last i checked, defense was already shafted anyway.

thing is, i would hate to see this FPS turn into an RPG, thats what Star Wars Galaxies is for :D

I voted no. It is already hard enough to defend a base.
I'm up for anything that gives us more tactical options.

Grapeling hooks are not a bad idea IMO, I just do NOT want to see them usable to scale base walls.
Trees: OK, fine, take away the VS MAX's monopoly on the canopy, and allow them to be boomered frrom their previously secure position. The consensus seems to be that they need a slight nerf anyway - this will do just that.
Cliffs: Please do this. It is SO annoying to duck behind a hill, only to find out that you can't get back up it and need to run 3 miles out of your way to get back at the action. However, this should not work above a certain altitude (since there are some mountains with peaks above the flight ceiling - no un-Reaverable snipers please).
I'm of a mind that the hook should not work at all inside nme SOI's at all. Snipers should be farther out than this anyway, I see nothing wrong with the defending team scaling their own walls (to be able to respond faster to breaches for example), and many towers are intended to be on an unclimbable hill for defensive benifits of the position.

No grappling hooks. That way no more animations would have to be added. Not for climbing walls either. Just trees & mountains for a short distance.

I don't see what the problem is if you can't use a weapon while climbing. Just shoot them down before they can get up.

While just about anything sounds reasonable compared with Surge, I'd have to say that this seems like it would reduce the value of vehicles. Commanders want to count on at least a few consistencies, and having advanced hackers constantly climbing over your walls to your vehicle terminal is just too nutty.
