ok this is simple...
its a new heavy buggy but common pool, and it comes in two forms (mini gun and nade luancher)
ok the mini gun will be BIG like a 25mm used for on vechs and some times troops if you are close to them... but thats not what its designed for... what it is designed for is a all around escort buggy and is not ment (but still can) to fight in big battles.
the nade luancher style is on the top on the vech also and is hand loaded so you have to carry the ammo on you if you gun... this is a down fall yes but this is designed for fri the little basterds that run around... it will ba able to fire all forms of nades and rockets.
both have mid to light armor and only the nade luancher can fight a tank with some chance of sucsess. the gunner is exposed and CAN be shot off.. but there is a blast sheild infront and behind him that can not be distroed and if hit do no count against the vechs armor. the will go as fast as the murader (sp?) and will be able to carry the driver, gunner, and two passingers.
the extra jobs this buggy can do is
-close troops support
-fast medical transport
-scouting
-semi mourter

I like the first one. Having a heavy machine gun similar to the Halo Warthog would really be a crowd favorite I think. Sometimes a guy might want to have a break from the empire specific crap. *cough thresher cough*

Just to let you know I dont think the engine supports the ability to shoot people out of vehicles ala BF42.

True. Perhaps they could add a semi fixed 12 mm gun on the passenger side like the original harasser before they changed it. That plus the heavy gun on top would make this a formidable but not unbeatable machine.
MORE VEHICLES!!!! I LOVE 'EM!!!!

Sure, Give everyone a vehicle as Gimped as a Maurader, I am sure it will see lots of use.
Sorry, could not resist but how about we fix the Maurader first?

50 cal might be too much. Maybe 35 mm like the Lib gun.

50 cal's baby! put em in the bunkers and make the bunkers better!

Yeah bunkers with heavy cannons would rule!
The engine may not support people being blown off, but it prolly COULD support the gunner taking damage instead of the vehicle.

It would be kinda cool if they rotated in new vehicles and phased new ones out every once in a while to keep people on their toes.

The engine does support pilots and passengers taking damage.
Look at the radiator, it only damges those inside the vehicle.
There was actually a period during beta when you could snipe the drivers out of the open cockpit vehicles. It was a bug they said and closed it right up. I always though this would be an interesting feature.

I agree but only with certain vehicles.
For example: take the Galaxy away for a month & watch how many people flock to use it when it comes back.

Well, the issue with that is that the damage from ballistics and explosives, to the gunner, would have to be area specific. The way the radiator treats a vehicle atthe moment is like a grenade - Area of Effect.
I doubt ti would be too much a hassle to put in area-specific damage on a gunner.

 :D
I think it might be trickier than it seems. PS seems to associate people with the vehicle in order to move them around, and since there is no hit detection, it would be difficult to make the part of the vehicle that constitutes the person take damage instead of the vehicle.
Maybe they could do it, but I don't think they will.

you guys fail to realize that .50 cal translates to about 12mm...

I would rather see them allow the driver of the empire specific buggy be capable of firing the main weapon in a locked position if they don't have a gunner. I have a gun on the roof damn it, just cause by gunner bailed out doesn't mean I couldn't reach over and at least hit the trigger :P
