I started using it with my Vanu alternative charaectar, Great alternative to Jackhammer. I stopped using JH long ago, i beg all NC to use your MA save your self 4 certs, and get uni-max or scatter MAX. Scattermax = the BFG of Jackhammers, With that said im still mainly NC. and the VS weapons arent bad.

I'm considering it. I sense that each individual Sweeper shot is more powerful than a Jackhammer shot, it's just that the JH fires faster.

Sweeper is good if your good with it, which few are. Unpopular because of the lack of spam ability HA has.

JH causes 1 damage per pellet more.
Sweeper and JH both fire 8 pellets.
Sweeper has significantly tighter pellet spread, tighter than pre-BP JH.
JH fires 40% (1.4x) faster than a Sweeper.
Sweeper holds half the amount of ammo.
Sweeper has no alternate fire mode.
Sweeper has a smaller CoF.
Sweeper comes as a bundle with two other weapons in a two point cert, JH costs four points alone.
Outside of 5m, a Sweeper out damages a JH on damage over time.
Outside of 2m, a Sweeper out damages a JH on a shot for shot basis.

The Sweeper is virtually a superior weapon, despite costing far fewer certs.

I love the sweeper, helps combat teh JH but when they are surging around it gets more difficult :p

I used the Pulsar for about 2 days before I swiched over to the sweeper. Most of the combat that matters takes place indoors and the shotgun weapons own that arena. The pulsar is good for long range outdoor battles, but they don't make a difference anyway. I haven't touched the pulsar since the first 2 days of my trial period. Even out doors most people won't engage you in combat until you're withing sweeper range. And even when they do, most people are too stupid to fire in burts, thus making their weapon as useless beyond short range as the sweeper is.

Sweeper is the way to go for MA combat. I wouldn't put it above the JH though, JH + surge is rediculous with that 1 shot kill crap.

I dumped the lasher for the sweeper, its simply a far super assault weapon for the VS, 4 cert points regardless.

The lasher's is a joke. It's a n00b spam weapon to give idiots a chance of damaging something. I cant really say buff it, becasue it doesnt need buffed. In defence it owns in numbers. Lasher vs sweeper in backdoor defence, Lasher wins.

I find it unusable becasue:
Its pathetic clip size will allow you to kill 1 enemy (2 absaloute max) before needing to reload. It's a brave man that fails to reload after each engagement. You can kill far more people with a sweeper with 2 boxs of ammo than you will ever manage with a lasher. Don't give me your numbers crap. Im talking pratical terms here.

Its massive reload time renders it usless in assault. You'll kill one person, reload, then somone will pop round the corner and waste you before you lock and load.

Its painfuly inacurate, damaging groups, not killing people. You dont aim with a lasher, you point and pray.

It sounds awful. The gunfire noise sounds like something out of a flash movie.


The sweeper is good for the VS, for the rest, doubtful.

Lasher still needs, as so many have asked for so long is a larger clip. It is a very effecient close-up wep, although for four points, im inclined to agree with others....My point being, buff the lasher somehow over distance, speed up boltsa or larger clip anyway.

Sweeper is a great gun for what you pay for the bundle. I also think the guass is a great gun, but thats besides the point. The thing that I love about the JH is the triple-shot secondary fire mode. Nothing is more fun than seeing someone hacking your base or tower, coming up behind them, giving them a nice "Well met!" and BAMMO!!!!

The sweeper is a fine shotgun and if you dont want to sport 4 points for a better shotgun that is certainly a viable choice to make, but the sweeper isnt anywhere near as effective.

I agree with that statement and would add that the MCG is also superior to the Sweeper. Also the empire MA weapons own just as much... Gimme a Gauss or a Cycler and you can have your Sweeper.

With my NC character I have a fav loadout that is a Rexo with a JH and a Gauss rifle. I use the JH for CQB and the Gauss for longer ranges. This is especially effective in the caverns where MA and snipers take up firing positions from a safe elevation.

i like sweeper but tend not to use it since i go with the agile-lasher-and health setup for my killing, sweeper is good but for me its just not fast enough, when im around lots of enemys i need to be able to shoot fast to take them down, and the sweeper is a better weapon for being a distance from your opponent, and it doesnt do good in a large open field with lots of enemys, if you kill one you have like 1 shot left and have to reload, by the time you reload your dead, with the lasher you have slightly less range but you can take down more guys with you

I believe that's the point though. Yes, the JH is an awesome and fearsome weapon...as is the lasher and MCG. The thing is that they're all 6 cert points.

The Sweeper is comparable (though not better) for only 2. That's 4 cert points that can be spent on something else (such as a tank or RExo or medic or eng). So really, is it worth it to have the HA weapon instead of sticking with the commonly available Sweeper.

Of course, you can just take the same cert points and get Uni-MAX...AI MAX beats the HA 8 times out of 10 in a straight 1 on 1. ;)

With only 20 slow-speed energy balls per clip, every shot has to count if you're in the mood to live. Meaning taking time, guessing ( yes guessing where they are going to be by the time that ball gets there) and obviously aiming.

Well...

MCG = aim and shoot at short to med range
JH = get REALLY close, aim and shoot
Lasher = aim where you predict they will go or spam an area you don't want them to go into

With any of these weapons if you don't aim you will just spend lots of ammo before you die while getting no kills.
