View Full Version : Idea for Commanding

Ok, this is the idea. Any commander that's leading a squad AND is Br 20, gets command exp instead of regular exp when killing, capping and filling with ant.

Note the IS br 20, not all commanders should get CEP by leading a squad and killing.

It's not a super fast way to get high in CR since the CR takes huge amounts of xp to get by. But at least it could help those below cr 4 to get at least a bit higher when they are commanding a squad.

Say you play for 12 hours straight as commander, br 20. You get 3 bases which gave you 2k cep. 3 bases is not an understatement, sometimes the fighting is supertough and you cant get a cap for hours. In the meantime you got 100 kills and 5 antruns done. That 2k could have been 4k, or maybe 5, with the additional xp for commanding and killing.

A possible idea would be to half the xp to 50% for killings and stuff, if you think that would be too much for the commander to get. Its just that squadleaders at br 20 dont need the extra regular xp, its just wasted.

I've been commanding a squad at br 20 now for ages it seems, and capping bases dont get you much xp anymore. Since the br 20 commander can get more stuff to support his or her squad this would be a nice addition I think. But only for br 20 who is squadleader, people who are br 20 but not commanding could get regular xp, which wouldnt help them.

Thoughts, comments? :D

I agree, it should be way easier to get command rank. CR5 doesn't make one a "general" or some kind of military mastermind. They're still soldiers, or they wouldn't carry rifles and fight in the field, they would sit in command centers and issue orders exclusively.

Rule 1 of a grind-based levelling system is Don't Kill the Grind. As it is, it would take many, many months to get cr5, and then only if you played ridiculous amounts of time.

Making it easier to get CR would revitalize the game for a lot of people. You should get CEP whether alone or in a squad once you hit BR20. Figurehead squad-leaders who milk CR are no more deserving of command rank than grind-driven players.

Also, make it cost outfit points to use Global chat.

I think we have enough CR 5's that are incompetent enough as it is. I'm not saying all are, mind you, just most. I think making it even easier for people to become CR 4's and 5's is a bad idea.

I'm sorry but I too must agree with Cryptica here making it easier to get to high CR would just make the global spam even worse and I'm running ot of roomin my ignore box already.

yup, too many cr5s already.

and really, it's not hard to get cr5 : i've got one toon member who's got to 4.3 in about a month and a half of solid play. they'll be cr5 inside two months. they just know what to do, where to do it and how to get the best out of the current system.

if you're suggesting a change to how we get command rank, then we should really concentrate on giving people experience for *commanding* : organising tasks, and seeing they are carried out. so SLs get exp for saying "take this tower", "hold the CC / gen / tower for x minutes", "secure 5 links in 30 minutes", "turn the cave to our empire", that sort of thing.

ain't gonna happen any time soon tho, and I see no reason at all for yer average grunt BR20 SL to leech CEP for not commanding.

Personally, as a BR 20, i think there should be an alternate way to get experience for commanding, I still see the value of getting experince in a squad though, it helps out my buddies get higher in the ranks.

Definately against making CR easier to get, I am tired of having to put the Global Chat morons on ignore. I'd rather see a system that takes a box of CR away for every person that puts you on Ignore.
