Something is afoul with the NC to enlist the help of CSRChristL-J. Here's proof: http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/planetside/Forum8/HTML/031762.html

it doesn't take a genius to drop an OS on a group of TR, no matter the reason they are there. and like someone said over there, if someone asked you something like that, what would you say? I would say "of course".

Why do CSRs need to be visible in-game? Sounds like needlessly bad image for SOE.

I would find it funny if we found out in a couple days that the CSR guy was removed.

I hate school comps, I can't go to the official site. Crap, what was that thread about?

A CSR was suspiciously present in the world, and visible. He performed voice macros to draw the attention of players. Those players were then Orbital Striked.
Coincedence? Who cares. CSRs are _not_ to appear visible - EVER.

I see, and why is this a problem, that he is abusing his priveleges?

1) What difference does it make if a CSR is visible or not? If you have an NC character and you're asked to respond to something in a TR base, then that's where you go. Maybe they were not there to investigate a possible bug but a griefer and it was a "wave the flag" exercise. By standing visibly in the CY, people would go "hey! there's a CSR here..." and people would behave themselves better. There's also the possibility that he was reading reports/in a separate chat on where he needed to be going next and that was where his character had logged out from (the original complaint does not state whether or not the CSR walked into the base, or simply appeared there...given the lack of equipment, it is just as plausible on the information given that he /quit after spawning at an AMS when the base was NC as it's an NC home continent), it's not like he was blasting away at people. Since he's not doing anything actively in the game yet, he doesn't move, but doesn't want to be unfriendly so occasionally does a voice macro. People foolishly gathered around to gape...but they're about as bright as the people who stop at traffic accidents to stare. He's a CSR not some sort of celebrity...he's not doing anything, get on with life.
2) The OS that they complain about is such utter nonesense. For one, the CR in question is quite good with OSes to begin with. Secondly, it's not like they need a CSR to provide intellilgence data, just get someone to do an empire switch. In all likelihood that's what happened. The genius TR all stand around looking at the CSR, one of the "spies" (or even *gasp* an infiltrator on the walls or a pilot overhead since they were IN THE OPEN) notices this and sends a tell going "Hey, these geniuses are just standing around..." and poof, they're OSed. The NC then try to get the TR all riled up (evidently successfully) by saying "Oh yeah...we have the CSRs helping us."
3) If he had god mode on, why the hell would the CSR care about an OS? He'd have just stood there anyway. The fact that he disappears and runs off says to me that he had straightened out what he needed to and was headed to where he needed to be. Not like the TR didn't know exactly who he was to report it later you know. That's just nonsense in terms of actually proving anything.
Sure, the matter should be looked into, but until proven otherwise, I think it's just human foolishness combined with an opportunistic OS. The CSR was a side note on it, but the TR could have avoided being OSed by simply playing the game and not going "Ooooo! Look at the CSR standing there doing nothing! He shall be our new God! Let us gather around him and worship!"

Bullshit. CSRs never, ever have a reason to appear visible to the general population. Sure, this guy may be friend (and object of envy) to many, but he screwed up big-time by appearing visible. This is supposed to be a war.

I think the comic value nullfies any percivied injustice, it's not like he was going around scouting AMSs or anything.

That's fucking funny shit.
Ahh, takes me back to the days when Catarpillar use to use the CSR broadcast channel to organize a good fight on Markov.
