View Full Version : Cloakers alowed through defence domes?

I think cloakers should be allowed to pass freely through defense domes. This would really make for some sweet spec ops missions. What do you think?

yes , i think it would be sweet, or like the other thread u can have a speacial item , which opens a small hole in the dome for about 2-3 secs , only enough time for a cloaker to get in , and only cloakers can use them (it would be unbalanced and just a plain waste for even having domes if any1 could use them)

They've already stated that cloackers will be allowed through when cloacked. It's not like it would matter anyway. If cloackers are the only ones that can get in then everybody will be looking for them. With the hacking restrictions they're proposing - not to mention making gens harder to take down - the cloackers won't be able to do much once they get in anyway.

The devs seem bent on not allowing cloackers who get inside the bubble to hack terminals or vehicle pads. Lots of people are bitching about that, so hopefully it will change. It seems that they may end up with the compromise of not allowing cloackers to switch armor from a terminal they hacked while the dome is up.
Personally I think that if you've got the mad skills it would take to get into the spawn of a base that's being defended - when EVERYBODY will be looking for you - you should be able to hack a term and do some damage with a max.

They are not going to allow single cloakers to disrupt the base (like bringing the gen and tubes down). They are doing this to secure the base for OBO. They need to make OBO attractive, so they are catering to the outfits that want to "purchase" stuff to make base ownership more attractive. And one of the points to make it attractive is to ensure it cannot be ghost hacked, the tubes are not blown, and the place is not spawn camped. Otherwise, why would you want to "recall to base".
Personnaly, I think the whole OBO concept needs to drop, and they need to make these "improvements" available to all bases, or none.

Ok maybe only cloackers cause come on someone should be able to get through. Like they said what will the defender's do? They will probably do what they do when you attack and take over a contient and the team whose home contient it is come out of their warpgate and start running out, shooting, then running back in. But then you could place boomers around the dome and not let them out like they do on warpgates but there is still airplanes :D.

well if cloakers we're able to hack terminals while dome is up (which I am strongly against) would mean 70% of the population would have Infil, why? ok heres why. Me and lets say 7 other guys get into a dome, now we skip on over to the Equipment Terminals and get oursleves each a max with a hole lot of ammo and meds. Well thats just like a regular attack to me, except theres no reavers and tanks, but when have u seen a Prowler in the spawn room. I say they shouldnt be allowed in Period, they have all that stealth so why dont they just find a nice corner and hide in there for 30 mins, when the dome is back up they just go over to the CC while everyone is putting their make up on and hack away.

1 max gaurding the spawn room or the door you and any number of cloaker buddies decide to enter through, and you're all dead. If the enemey defense is so bad that you can get all the way to the spawn without being spotted then they deserve to get an ass kicking from some MAXes. If they're too stupid or too lazy to defend the spawn room or the back door then they deserve to lose. The base should not defend itself.

But if the cloakers were able to hack any equipment terms then they could get any type of armor and weapons they have. Then everyone would have cloaking just to do this. BTW: have they said if routers will work within the dome thus bypassing the dome problem altogether?

Considering that Interlink facilities make cloaking usless I dont think it makes a bit of difference one way or the other

I just wonder what the point to allowing the cloakers in? If they can't hack terminals and the generator is protected from attack, then what exactly are they going to do? Now if there is a shield generator (seperate from the main gen), then I can see that as a valid target. The cloaker would sneak in to the unguarded base, blow the shield gen, then he could hit the equipment terminal and switch out.
Just remember, they are making plans based on controlling Zergs and midnight hacks. If you balance the two problems, then that will be the probable final solution.

Yeah, everybody being a cloaker would work great for getting inside if there are no defenders. If there are defenders the cloakers will drop like flies. I don't know how many more times i'm gonna have to say that before people get it. Cloakers have 0 armor. The interlink bug still plauges them. EVERY FREAKING DEFENDER will be looking for them since they'll be the only enemey allowed in. I don't care how many damn cloakers you run into the base. If there are people defending it they should not get to the spawn room.
If you're a cloaker and you can get into a spawn room of a defended base then you deserve to be rewarded for your trouble and the defenders deserve a smack in the face for letting you get that far.
Everybody seems to think defense should be so easy that any braindead 12 year old could defend an entire base by himself. That's just stupid.

and fix the bugs that are already there.
cloakers would be able to take down the gen, it would jsut take a whole lot of 'em, all with CE and a full inv of boomers.
