View Full Version : Do you ever carry a laze?
Like the sign says, just curious if anyone actually uses it. Personally I have a couple favourites that have a Laze pointer stored in there. Number 7 is my "Double-O-7" infiltrator setup with a CUD, REK, Laze, Repeater and Ammo and I also have an Agile setup with one stashed in the backpack just in case.
Today on Ceryshen I was lazing for 3 flails in our squad as they shelled the crap out of the Dropship Center's courtyard. Was all fun and games until my spandex-clad ass got clipped by a shot that went a little to the left and smoked me off the catwalk.

Even if you had a favorite with it and knew how to use one, it has a snowball's chance in hell at actually being available at a terminal

No. My space is precious. If people need a target they should get their SL to designate a WP. Laze points dont last long anough and are too dangerous to set.

I don't have a fav loadout saved with a pointer in it, but I do have one in each of my vehicle trunk fav loadout configurations. I like Lazing enemy flails that I otherwise would never kill with my mossy. :)

No not really. I did once but all the flails I see just fire at whatever the heck they want to. I really dislike flails, I think it gets in the way of both the attacking AND defending force. I've seen many of my squadmates killed by a FRIENDLY flail that kept firing no matter who or what was in the base.

Um, Laze pointers are always available now, even at any AMS.
Yup, they are standard equipment now. As long as you own CC, that is.

:stupid:
One of my favorite things to do is sit in a base about to be attacked by the enemy with my Gal, and look for the little blue beam of death. Their death, not mine. Just tell my squad where it's coming from and BAM!

My outfit (http://www.theblackwidowcompany.net) just completed an operation called "Operation FIREBASE ALPHA", where we set up a significant amount of Flails with Skyguard, AV, and AA protection, in addition to air support. We had a team of infiltrators with laser pointers running around locating and destroying targets.
Future iterations of this exercise will include "calls for fire", where units can request we fire on such-and-such target.

I've been asked to mark targets for flails before, and pick up a pointer from the closest front line terminal, be it a tower or AMS.
Recently though, we've cut the BS and just promoted to SL whoever has a nice target to waypoint.

The lazepoint lasts such a short time.
Would it really be so terrible if a guy could laze a target, get in his Flail and pummel it?
The lazepoint should last a good 30 seconds at least.

Why can't they last until you take them down (like waypoints)?
I think they made some excuse about cluttering up the mini-map, but I wish they could change it so you that each player can only have one WP. If you target something else, the marker is moved until you switch it or get killed, but not until you release.
