I have a dilemma...

this happens EVERY SINGLE GAME I ever play, I end up stalemating myself on what empire/side/class to choose.

Anyway, I dont like the terran republic, but I like their weapons

I like the new conglomerate, but I dont want to be on a side that is "overpowered," i guess, and has so many of the idiots as some people say it has

I do like the Vanu Soveriegnty, but I want to know in general how they stack up in terms to the other empires

I just want to know the people on the empires are like, in general, i guess.

and please dont say i'm thinking too much about the game, I get that a lot.

Alright, without being biased, or funny, heres a rundown, since I play all 3 empires.


VS was created so they could further advance Vanu/Human technology, as well as keeping it out of the hands of the more careless factions. They view the others with open disdain, thinking the NC brutish and the TR unrefined.


TR wigged the fuck out when the factions split. One reason, because if the wormhole opens back up, Earth is going to PWN them like dirty little noobs, and secondly, because no one defies the republic. You know that bible thing? Dont argue with your parents? Well, the NC and VS are the bitchy little teenagers, and the TR is the overworked single mom trying to control the two little brats.


NC was founded on the whole "I hate big brother" idea. Theyre for a freer society, yadda yadda. They hate the VS due to thier want to alter the human genome away from its original state, whether it means a more efficeient, stronger race or not. They hate the TR because the TR are a bunch of Nazi's, to them. Thus, they make shotguns that tear people apart, and outfit everyone over BR6 with surge, so they can move fast AND kill people. However, due to the massive amount of people on this side, due to said equipment, they are despised by all (read: Non NC) And I, an experienced NC player, can tell you - Dont surgile. I did, and it is the CHEAPEST thing you can do. If I catch you doing that, Ill thwack you with my gigantic e-penis. And no one wants that.

Here's how to chose between 3 options.

1. Buy oreos.
2. Eat all of them except the last one.
3. Take the last one and twist it (don't try to manipulate the twist, just close your eyes and twist)

If all the icing remains on 1 side, go with option A. If most of the icing (but not all) stays on top, go with option B. If most of the icing stays on the bottom, go with option C. If the icing is devided exactly even, well then, God does not want you to play PlanetSide.

Create a TR character and level up to BR6, create a VS character and level up to BR6, create an NC character and level up to BR6. Then decide who your main(s) will be.

Well big and organized are kinda hard to find, if your looking for a wel organized outfit you would most likely want to find a spec ops outfit or a specialty outfit (MAXS, Vehicle, support cert) if you want a big outfit most likely you'll end up with a zerg outfit (get as many people as you can muster and charge in wiping out as many as you can till they A.give up B.Blow the spawn tubes C. blow the generator

Quantity > Quality, the more the better the better it is, then TR it is

Slow but powerful weapons that have bad range, yet can kill almost anything quickly the fight for freedom and NC are for u

Moblitiy and Manuverablilty, sacrifice ur armour for an attack from an unexpected angle then join me and the VS for our fight for humanity

Well, in my experience in the game, all this adds up to... NOTHING.
None of that has anything to do with gameplay, except to give you a starting side.
Its nice that SOE gave a little background, but you never see any of it in game.

CHoose your side based on weapons and vechiles, little else.

Or to look at in term or RW tanks:

TR: Russian (big guns that can't fire while moving, and lots of armor making it slow)
NC: Germen (the perfect balance of speed, manuverability, firepower, and armor)
VS: American (smaller, more acurate guns; faster, lighter, and there are LOTS of them)
