Hi guys,
I'm new to the game as of a couple days ago and am still wondering how experience is layed out. I've gotten the basic jist of things but I was wondering if there's a post somewhere that says what all experience is given for certain things?
I guess I'll leave some specific questions,
1) Why don't drivers get experience from targets killed by their gunner? They have to be in squad?
2) I take it you get more exp the higher the CR of the target?
3) Which things do you get exp for hacking? And how much?
4) Do you only get exp when you take the last shot at someone or is it based on the amount of damage you did compared to others?
Hmm that's all I can think about for now... thanks!

1) Yes, unless you are in a squad you get nothing for your gunners kills.
2) The longer someone has been running around killing between deaths, the more they are worth to kill.
3) Hacking vehicles is the only real hacking experience. Base hack are based on kills right before and during hack.
4) Whoever gets the kill, gets the experience, no xp for damaging an enemy.

2) Also, if you kill them inside a friendly Sphere of Influence you get 25% more xp from the kill than you would outside it (since there is no "cap xp" for base defenders)

3) Base hack XP is also divided into 3 segments. It takes the total XP that COULD be gained and divides it into three time parts, and you get a chunk or all depending on how long you were there during the fighting.

Do you have to be in a squad to get exp for the base being hacked or do you get it by just being in the area? And you're saying you get a portion of this exp based on how long you've been there or something?
Also... for base hacking... you get exp when the counter starts and when it's successful or only one? If so, how is that dispersed?

Don't worry about the specifics, theres alot of old information floating around and it's kind of confusing anyway. All you need to know is that if your in the soi of a base during the hack or about 15 minutes beforehand, and there's fighting, you'll get xp, the heavier the fighting, the more xp. You can leave the SOI and do whatever you want during that time and as long as you stay on the continent until the hack is finished you'll get the XP earned while you were in the SOI, as long as the hack goes through of course.
Ok, once again with the true definitition of Base XP.... Maybe Hamma should find the official Dev post on this and put it in the FAQ or something. ;)
Starting 10 minutes before a base is hacked, and ending after the 15-minute hack timer expires, the server stores the number of unique players from each faction in that SOI in 5-second time slices. By unique players, this means that if someone dies and respawns during one time slice (rare but possible with Bio Lab+Speed Mod), they are not counted twice. That is 500 time slices from before the hack until the base is captured.
If you're not in a squad, you get XP based on the number of unique enemies who were in the SOI during the timeslices that you were in the SOI. The dev's have never stated what the exact XP per slice works out to, but it is based on a sliding scale, probably something like:
0 enemies (0 xp)
1-10 enemies (1 xp)
11-25 enemies (2 xp)
...
100+ enemies (5 xp)
If you are in a squad, the solo XP is weighed out against the number of squadmates who were in the SOI. For example, if 3 out of 5 squadmates were in the SOI for that timeslice then you would get 3/5th of what you would have if you were solo. For CEP there are some additional modifiers on there that I don't fully understood but it works out so that the squad leader can earn more experience than his squadmates, but if and only if he has a large squad and has managed to keep everyone in the SOI during the fighting. The bigger the squad, the bigger the potential CEP rewards.
Ok a little complicated to be sure, but what this means to you is that there is no point in being in an SOI once the fighting has died out. When the tubes or gen are down and all enemy AMSes are destroyed you may as well move on because the time you spend in a secured SOI earns you nothing. Obviously, if the enemy is rolling tanks into the courtyard there is still fighting happening and XP to earn, but you get the idea.
And to earn your XP all you have to do is be on the same continent when the base is finally captured (hack timer finishes, LLU is capped). If you wandered in and out of the SOI throughout the capture process you will still earn some XP as long as there were some enemies inside the sphere during the timeslices that you were there.
