Yesterday, my wife and her girlfriend went down to Long Island to see this guy. If you have ever seen his shows it can get somewhat intense when he approaches someone. He may seem arrogant, but I am starting to believe.
I was, and probably still will be, about 30% skeptical about psychics. My first time with one I was told I was going to be married to a raven haired woman who earned more than me. It happened 8 years later, but it did happen.
Anyway, back to the subject. My wife got read by him. He was getting feelings of someone coming through with ties to both Italy and Germany. My wife's father served in the Italian army but was mostly stationed in Germany. He asked more questions and finally determined that my wifes father was coming through. He said that her father was holding a small baby in his arms. My sister-in-law had a miscarriage about 3 years ago. How could a complete stranger know that? So, based on what my wife told me over the phone last night, I am going to be a father. And there are some other things that I really don't want to reveal right now, but mostly good stuff.
I guess I'm wondering what the community thinks of this guy.

I believe in seeing things in other areas (cant remember the word) like some of those peeps did in ww2 to see german bases and such (sat in a bare room for hours and focuesd) but i dont believe in phycics, mystics, or people who read of body ques for answers. There has to be coinincidinces, but I read up on him and he really doesnt go into the afterlife.
Also, people WANT to believe in this stuff, and some convince themselves that its real when deep down, they dont believe it.

Anyone can make vague assumptions and ask leading, open questions. ****** do it all the time when working/interrogating, to "hook a fish". It's a little different and you're working off chemistry (body, not real), but it's the same general artform.
Although I think that stuff is real, I have heard of plenty of frauds and charlatans. Miss Cleo, anyone?

Yeah, that's what he does, "You will meet a raven haired woman, who earns more money than you" Chances are, if you weren't married, you're gonna meet a lady w/ black hair, eventually, and w/ the italy, germany thing "Well, I am part german, and I have a friend who is part italian!!!!11 OMFGS!!11 u r teh psykik!11" It's just simple guessing, that's really vague...

The trick is, if your ever asked questions by a guy like him, be so vague that he'll run into so many brick walls that by the time he gives up on you he'll be ready to pass out.

I want to go to his show, then when he asks one of his stupid questions that anybody could relate to I'll jump up and say "YES! YES! that's me! blah blah blah". Then when he asks another question I'll just be like "No. No that's totally wrong. You're a douche bag".
I think everybody has some "psycic" ability (most people just don't listen to it, or can't hear it because of all the other stuff on their mind), but I don't think anybody can talk to the dead. When people die they are just dead. There is no "after life". People just conjured up the idea of "the after life" because dealing with the seperation of death is painful. Every once in a while I have a little premenision of something that's about to happen. Or sometimes I'll sense that something bad happened to one of my family members. For example, the day my mom was in a car accident I woke up in bed with a cold sweat at about the time her accident occured (2AM). I can also sense death when somebody that some one in my family knows well or somebody in my family dies.

Cyanide, maybe THIS is the afterlife, maybe we all died and came here, and when we die here we are born again in the real life, except it wouldn't be the real life because we would classify this existance as real, therefore the real life would be the afterlife and vice versa.
I'm psychic! I have dreams, forget about them, and later on, they come true! How do I know this? I remember them, like deja vu.

wait, isnt that called blasphemy?
eh i dont believe in psychics per say but sure its possible somebody could have some sort of super natural connection
edit: btw his show is in the sci fi channel, could you get any hokier than that?
as to thoughts of the afterlife or this being the afterlife
great armys used to sail from one island to another leaving goats and pigs so they would multiply when they came back (ultimatly destroying the plant life of the island) when the army returns they have plenty of food
maybe god left us here for a similar purpose

@ The 1st Paragraph: God is a cruel, cruel bastard if this is the afterlife.
@ the 2nd Paragraph: I have those too. They creep me the fuck out.

John Edward uses an old and well known technique where you ask vague questions and lead the people into giving you information, which then tells you what kind's of other questions to ask. He watches your facial experessions and if one of his questions doesn't seem to hit home, he quickly moves onto the next question without even pausing. As he pulls information from you he can make his questions less and less vague.
John has actually had times where he's gotten absolutely nowhere with people and had to apologize and give up.
He's good at what he does, but I don't believe he can talk to/see the dead.
