Planetside: HUD Overhaul

Zoom Stuff:
Cancel Zoom
-Turn off Zoom Implant
-Not the escape key with the annoying HUD
-Can actually zoom normally when out of stamina
-Don't get your zoom removed when implant charges up
Reverse Zoom
Smooth Zoom (Key is there for it but it doesn't seem to work)

Remove:
AMS Matrix warning
/Alarm warning
Instant action warning
"You have left the world"

Toggle on/off:
RangeFinder hud
Names and replace them with Tribes style indicators (auto on with zerglag)
'Corpse of' = Picture of Skull & Crossbones
Squad Waypoints in general, visual settings, not see other squad waypoints
Squad hud, move it to the MAP screen
NorthWestEastSouth on the minimap
Indicator of what Squad you are on in Platoon
Green smoke & Lowering animation for backpacks in zerglag
Take the top part of the chat hud put it in the top right corner
-Kills, and base caps. Counter Strike style (whith XP on the side)
Split weapon hud apart and move it around

Inventory Terminal:
1) Open terminal
2) No mouse loose focus
3) Press a number key
4) Walk away from inventory turns it off

(I Agree / OK)
Start Planetside
Pick character screen (For last used server)
Double click character
Go play


In general I would like a much smoother, user friendly, customizable HUD system.

I think I kinda understand you but.... okay, I lied. What's wrong with the loading screen (assuming that's what you're talking about)? It seriously doesn't take that long.

Oh, and the link with your "new" HUD looks... exactly the same. Aside from the fact that the weapon information is to the left of the screen. Isn't that how Tribes used to lay out the HUD?

I designed a popular Tribes mod for 2 years
I even did a complex script to redesigned the keys for Counter Strike after Tribes
I like the weapon layout :)

i think that they should make the platoon colors something other than brown....i dont know how many times i have been on ish. and not been able to see what my platoon is saying cause the color dissapears into the background...and maybe a couple more spots for macros would be nice, going around with 3 implants, and a medkit...no space for macros (and i use emotes AND chat macros.)....oh ya, does anyone ever get that bug that when u are in a squad (or any other time) ur chat window just scrolls up to the top randomly? It does it to me alot, and it annoys the hell outta me.

Actually, you can change the colors yourself! Go to you options menu and go to (I think) "Colors." Then you can make any of your chat channels whichever color you want.

Ah yeh, not quite GUI related, however it makes me wonder why my Grunt and my Sniper Character share the same configuration data.

Sort of silly to manually reload my configuration files every time I switch character.

Yeah, I got confused after the word...um...zoom. Anyway, some of these suggestions are good, but most are just unecessary IMO.
