Erm...If you are on any computer built in the last 10 years you can see a Jepg and if you dont have a program that supports it...then your computer must be F'ed :)

Its 3-4 years old, and i'm thinking of getting a new one, but its more user friendly, for familys and kids, so finding computer talk (like JPEG) is hard.

JPEG is a reletively low-quality but low-memory image file. I'm not exactly sure what JPEG stands for, but most computers do support that image format.

go to Microsofts site and look for a download for jpeg support. they should have one still.

i dont htink you need any special software to send a pic of hte day? Im not even sure if you need webhosting.

Edit: for potd on PSU you only need to click submit potd on the side bar on hte homepage type in your caption and click browse and look for the pic you took on your harddrive. Im not sure about the on the official site.

PS screenshots are saved as bitmaps...to post POTD you need to change them to jpegs using paint or any other sort of photo editor.

what you do is take the PS screenshot, then double click on it, it should come up with your default file viewer, then go to file, then save as, and where it says the file type, you select jpeg, and save the name as whatever u want, then just email it

Changing it in MS Paint is not a good idea. Sure, it'll be a .jpeg but it'll be the same size as a .bmp. Roughly 1-1.5 MB in size. Not fun for anyone who's on 56k.

No, changed bitmaps do not remain the same size using MS Paint. Thats what I use to change my screenshots to send them in for POTD's.
