View Full Version : armor inventory differences

I am wondering if anyone knows how the armor types differ in inventory space. I read that it will grow as you upgrade to agile and reinforced, but I wonder how much. I am curious since I am somewhat tempted to pick up both medic and engineering certs but then I would have to carry plenty of stuff in my inv since I would need both med cannisters and ACEs. I was hoping agile armor might be enough but perhaps I need reinforced for the extra carrying capacity.
Does anyone know anything in this area.

its not quite like that. you choose your armour at a terminal, where you choose your weapons (i think) but anyway you choose it for the specific task you want it for. for example if youre gonna be medic it would be stewpid to go in stealth or infiltration armour because you simply couldnt carry everything you need and medic up to a point is a combatent so you need something with a bit of armour. however if you took say the max armour then you would be too slow and you couldnt use the medkit (MAXs cant use any miscellaneous equipment) so the ideal choice for you would probably be light (if there are more than one medics in your outfit) or standard or agile which both offert protection though the latter is generally used for pilots.
does that help?

Not really. I know infiltration would probably be a bad idea and MAX usless. What I do wonder is how much extra equipment the different armor types can carry in addition to weapons. Would I be able to carry more cannisters in the reinforced armor compared to agile?

Yes, reinforced can carry more than agile.

I think it was:

Agile
1 pistol
1 rifle

Reinforced
2 pistols
2 rifles

I seem to remember reading that somewhere...

Rein Armor also has a larger misc. inventory space(9x9 vs the Agile's 6x9 I believe) so you can cary more ammo and a emergancy decimator.

Standard is one pistol one rifle.

Agile is two pistols and and one rifle.

You sure? If agile is 2 pistol and 2 rifle, what's reinforced? Also, I would think standard should be the same as the stealth for inventory, right? That's just me tho.

Or maybe standard has just enough room for one rifle...

There's some confusion here:

Infiltration suit: 1 pistol slot. Estimated 3x9 inventory

Standard suit: 1 pistol, 1 rifle. KNOWN 6x9 inventory

Agile suit: 2 pistols, 1 rifle, KNOWN 9x9 inventory

Reinforced suit: 2 pistols, 2 rifles, estimated 12x9 inventory

MAX: Fixed weapon system, estimated 15x9 inventory. (12x9 minimum)

Known inventories are ones were we actually have a screen shot. The rest are conjecture and educated guesses.

Does Medium equal Reinforced? Infiltration is Stealth, is Light the Agile Armor?

If you want to make find out everthing we definitely know about armors so far (or infact anything else), make sure you visit the PSU info pages.

Armor Info has recently been updated.

Drifting back to what was the first few posts of this thread...

I would think an invisible medic that goes around healing and ressurecting players wouldn't be a stupid idea....no matter how limited your equiment and weapons selection was(pistol and knife basically) Big problem would be getting hit by stray fire..

I heard a dev or someone talk about this in an interview/game preview but I'm absolutely clueless about the link....

It's reasonable to assume that using equipment will also render an Infiltrator visible. So using an IS to play a Medic will probably be a good way to get yourself killed too.
