Starting this wednesday 28Jan04 I will start training all who are interested in how to lead a large force of organized tanks in battle.
This is to anyone who is interested in leading organized armor into battle.
Time is not yet decided but the first meeting will include platoon size tank movement
(4 tanks 1 skyguard) and tanker SOP. (standard operations procedures)
If interested in attending send me an email at
[email protected] with game name. Remeber I am on the markov server for the TR, so if you have to start a new character to be able to attend do it. Last try to have a tank cert for that day if possible.
That is all.

*I don't see how it could hurt you attend, the most you have to lose is one hour of your life.

his not recruiting, it's training. Redx is hands down one of the best tank leaders their is. When his platoon hits a target it always clears the way for TR. Even the NC and VS can learn from him...

I have been debating about changing the organization of my armor company to running 5 tanks main gunners only for both gold and purple squads and having orange dedicated to anti air and service and support roles.
That way I could run 10 tanks 5 skyguards or 10 tanks 4 skyguards and two trashcans much more efficiently since it eliminates the need for a third tank platoon leader.
The total number of tanks might be down (by two only) yet we would have a greater concentration of firepower and bravo and alpha fire teams would be more effective in battle.

Nobody has Vanguard Raid Envy. It isn't an original concept, and if I correctly recall (which I do) the last Vanguard Raid that rolled through Oshur last weekend met with stiff resistance. The tank crew I was with killed at least ten on their own.
There are plenty of outfits who do tank tactics, and they aren't JUST on Emerald. RedX is on Markov. The NC aren't the only ones who can pull massive amounts of tanks, we just don't post thousands of screenshots to try and prove how leet we are.

The way I organized ours, our tanks stick together and we have three Prowlers per squad, along with a Lightning. I could throw a Skyguard in there and we take an AA gunner out of a Prowler... that seems limited somehow, though.

You make a good point but I go for the bigger bang for the buck, five skyguards are far more powerful than the secondarys of the tanks and can manuver around the formation to better intercept incoming air units.
Not only that you give far too much credit to the abilities of the 12mm cannon, have you ever tried to gun that thing in heavy lag? You might as well throw rocks at the enemy, also a reaver can simply hover at a long range and shoot you as they strafe and you cant do anything about it. Now if he tries that with a skyguard he is going to have a bad day.
Also the force I am posing is far more versitile and manuverable than yours in that the reduced amount of gunners on the prowler means that it is less complicated to reload since all I put in them are main cannon rounds.
Second I dont have to worry about anti air as long as I have at least one skyguard around and with five I can send two off to reload and keep three with me which is ample anti-air.
Last I can change the loadout of the platoon to include more tanks or more anti-air depending on what the enemy is throwing at me. The lighting although a decent tank is more of a hinderance than a help, yes I can use it for scouting but I would rather have a reaver or mosq do that so I get a wide view of what is coming at me and they tend to survive longer than a light tank.

I think its fine for a three man tank, I mean sure the 12mm isn't all that effective on Aircrafts. But as someone said, you can carry one extra trooper who can act as your look out and lets be honest any extra firepower is a plus.
It's the one thing I enjoy about my Marauder, its a multi-tasking darling. One shoots the air the other the ground while i merrily drive in circles, plus when I get to assault a base or tower, three squad team is far better then two.

Yes maybe for the marader but when running a tank platoon if I run two people per a tank I can fit more tanks into the platoon and makeup for the firepower difference.
