If any of you get this on your Cable or Sat dish, this is a TV show that reviews games on the Tech TV channel. You should be able to watch it tonight at like 11pm est. They Rip Core Combat but seem to like Planetside overall a lot

hasnt happened on a TV show that I am aware :D
Reason I posted this tho, is because Xplay tends to be very fair and balanced (even though they review WAY to much lame console crap) and is seen by lots of people. Hopefully they will say good things about PS in general. Thier original PS review got a high rating (4 out of 5 stars)

As one of the people who shelled out the 30 bucks for Core Combat when it first came out. I agree with this review, it would be as bad if they let all the PS players use the weapons or let CC buyers use the weapons anywhere (which is a bad idea). The main problem is their arent enough people back in beta the battles were awesome and the gameplay was so much better downstairs than upstairs during CC beta cause their were hundreds of people. I think the development team realizes this and are now working hard to correct it. I would like to see PS & CC in a "Planetside: Gold Edition" and make that set 30 (or even 20) bucks. Then further reduce the monthly to 10 bucks a month. This would get more people into Planetside, and then core combat for that matter. Back to Core Combat, their is absolutley no reason to go into the caves as it is. Getting modules is no more fun than doing ANT runs at two in the morning. Alot of people would agree that people need an incentive to do something, if you dont reward the player(s) in some way they wont go down their. Get CC out to more people, maybe as a nine dollar (or even free) download. Then give the players an incentive. Those are my ideas and i realize that im no bisuness major and that SOE runs a respectable bisuness that needs to function.
Those are just my thoughts

Core combat sucks, has sucked, and will continue to suck until the next set of enhancements comes out, and even that's prone to go wrong. They need to give the new vehicles' and weapons' access rights to everyone, Think up a new module system for the space stations, and then deny it was ever an expansion pack.

Hmmmm I watch Xplay regularly and I haven't seen it yet, but they'll probably reshow it soon enough. Anyways on a side note:
Queensidecastle do you play SOCOM II? Because I think I saw you in the room I just played, kinda ironic.

I would have to agree that Core Combat isn't a very good expansion pack. I got the expansion just because I could and didn't want to mess around with it later on. I hardly every seen anybody in the caves and nobody ever uses the weapons that came with it. I still see everybody just sticking with the original weapons.

The funny thing is, CC costs more than PS currently. CC is still $30, but PS has dropped to about $20.

Man, wtf. Those idiots didn't even review the game right. 3 new weapons were added not 2....but I have to agree with the 1 star rating.

I was flipping thru the channels and caught the review last night. I think their 1 out of 5 stars was dead on. They pretty much summed up everything we've been complaining about with CC. They did say that Planetside overall was a great game. Hopefully it will attract more players.

I remember all the people posting about how they couldn't wait to rub it in people's faces who didn't get the expansion because they were too cheap. They couldn't wait to waste people with CC weapons knowing that the people didn't have the expansion and couldn't fight back. There has as of yet not been a single moment that I've regretted not getting the expansion. The 1 free week of Core Combat was helpful to me, but probably a horrible idea for Sony to hand out to the customers. 1 free week to find out that you'll never use an expansion isn't the best marketing. I still look for CC on the cheap at Ebay, but I've let a number pass me by around 15 bucks. I can't figure out how much the expansion might be worth, but it's not 15 bucks.

The people who were in beta had every reason to be pumped up and psyched ready to buy CC. It fucking rocked in Beta. There never was anything wrong with the content of the expansion, it was the live implementation that sucked. I dont blame the Devs for not being able to forsee this because hindsight is 20/20

I agree with Queensidecastle. CC has a lot of interesting things to offer to the game and when there is fighting in the caverns it can be a lot of fun. Unfortunately, Sony couldn't forsee how little people would actually use the caverns. The next logical step is to figure out how to make the caverns worth fighting for. I have CC and I admit I hardly bother using it, but hey, I stuck it out when there were problems with the main game and Sony has done a lot to improve it. I feel confident they can do the same with CC.
