View Full Version : How many Vehicles can you have at once?

I am a long time PSU player, but htere is one thing I am wondering about.
I am a cloaker, so in bigtime zergs, I'm not good for much as the CC is usually guarded by darklighters and running around rambo style isn't very effective when you are wearing triple ply toilet papaer for armor. So instead of banging my head against the wall, I normally set up an AMS and guard it. Recently, however, I have been thinking of picking up the lightning or heavy tank so I have something to do instead of brick guarding.
My question is, if I buy an AMS, deploy it, and then buy a lightning or other vehicle, will my AMS stay up?
Thanks in advance.

When you aquire the second vehicle you lose ownership of the AMS and it will deconstruct in 15 minutes unless another player with an AMS cert jumps into it to claim ownership.

Bummer, my dream of guarding my AMS with my lightning is gone. Oh well, have to find some other 3 point cert to get... maybe medical...

Well, you could do that - providing you hop out of your lightning, and into the AMS once every 15 minutes to keep it around. If you bind to your AMS I believe it will give you a popup when it's about to deconstruct.

Vehicle ownership should be an array, not a single element.

I've done that before with my AMS, a router, and a skeeter.
Step 1: Acquire & Deploy AMS, deconstruct back to the base.
Step 2: Acquire and Deploy Router inside AMS bubble. Grab router pad and deconstruct back to the base.
Step 3: Acquire mosquito, fly to enemy base, bail on the roof. Deploy the router pad.
Step 4: Hop back and forth between your AMS and the router.

I used to guard an AMS with a Lightning. Problem is Reavers and Mossy tend to figure why a Lightning is sticking to the same general area killing anything that comes near it. Now while I've gotten pretty good at taking out Reavers and Mossy 1v1 you often times encounter packs of 3 or more Reavers/Mossys. Not much you can do in that situation =\
Just like an infiltrator, remaining undetected is the only real defense an AMS can have.
I do that from time to time with a Lodestar and my Reaver, but make sure you're religious about getting into your AMS periodically. I have lost so many Lodestars because I got pulled into an extended dogfight and didn't make it back in time.

Deconstruction is odd. Doing this on an unpopulated continent will deconstruct it in a few minutes. I think it has something to do with wether or not there is someone in the area of the vehicle. Ive parked my lode in places no one would ever find it, then I come back 5 min later for a rearm and its gone.
