Any other people in 8th grade doing enrollment? Could just be our school, but it seems like they're asking us to plan our whole educational future in 8th grade. We had to list all the stuff we plan on taking all 4 years of high school. Shit... do you think I have everything planned out? I will decide when the time comes, so lemme be 14.

Yeah I did that in 8th grade. To me, its really pointless. It just confuses you more, especially if you know exactly what field you want to be in. If you don't I suppose it could help. Don't worry to much about it, but don't totally push it aside if you still don't know what you wanna do during highschool.

I did that in 8th grade. I already know what I want to do so it helped me figure out what classes I need to take when

Dude, just bullshit it, and when the time comes when they ask, "But this doesn't follow your plan," say, "plans change."

That is stupid. I have never said "Im am 100% sure i want to do this" and i never will. I will just take each day as it comes.

Everyone does that. The classes you choose in 8th grade aren't set in stone. The only ones that really matter at that time is your freshman year.

i can't remember, but i don't think we had to do anything like that...
it was probably before they invented databases, though, so they couldn't really keep track.

you can't slip through a crack if it's big enough to drive 600 students through. that's a canyon.

8th grade was in 1985. Do you have any idea how much booze and drugs I flushed through my system since then? I have no clue if I ever had to sign up for anything.

I was 14 years old in the year these things happened:

The Space Shuttle Enterprise test vehicle goes on its maiden "flight" while sitting on top of a Boeing 747.
British Airways inaugurates regular London to N (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City)ew York City supersonic Concorde service.
Fleetwood Mac releases Rumours, which is a blockbuster album.
DJ Kool Herc classifies and introduces a new movement in America, calling it Hip hop.
John Travolta discoed in Saturday Night Fever.

we didnt have to do that, but this year (sophomore) we had a required class called
"Career Pathways"

where basically we learned about career choices and stuff...and had to choose a Plan A and B career and write things about them.

it was really a pointless class imho.

funny thing though, we had mock interviews at the end..(to prepare us for the job world). on my information sheet or somethin i put under likes= computer games. and my interviewer (a like 50 year old woman who is a professional interviewer for companies..) asked me what my fav game was. i just answered mmorpgs and fps's. she said, and i quote, "I started out in the wolfenstein days and now im into quake and unreal. i also play some Evercrack. i think they are good learning experiences, be it hand eye coordination, as well as leadership/communication skills."

i almost laughed when she said evercrack..had to keep a straight face so i didnt fail the interview ;)

I had to take one of those... according to that I plan to be a Nuclear Scientist... I can barely multiply... but, as long as it pisses off the highschool admins...
