Anyone else ever wonder if it's coincidence or not that the game seems to borrow (to put it nicely) alot from the movies 'Escape from New York' and 'Escape from L.A' ?

Main character in both = Snake

Main character's alias in both = Plisken

Both characters go on stealth covert op missions..

Heh, MG is from the old days of Nintendo. Also, I forget the reason they made it Iriqious Plisken but it had something to do with Snake, maybe Pliskin is snake in that language.

Yea I know about Metal Gear :p Probably still have the old Nintendo games in my attic. But still, Escape from New York came out in 1980 I think. Which is before any of the Metal Gear games came out.

Escape from L.A. is hardly stealthy. More like a Rambo in the future with a slightly better actor.

Well who would you have casted besides Sly in the original RAMBO?

Parts of it could be taken like that, but the jist of it is "Sneak into L.A. unnoticed, rescue a hostage".

The similarities between the two are massive and can't be denied :D
