This movie kicks ass. Watch it. I'm watching it now with my brother, who went to take a shower, so I thought I'd use this intermission to tell you about it.

For those of you just too lazy to read, here's the CliffNotes version. In this film (it's Japanese and subbed, but not an anime), the Japanese government collapses. The youth and the older people clash. 800,000 students boycott school until the BR Act is signed. Each year, a class has to fight to the death. This is done to keep the youth in line.

The class (in this case, 42 9th graders) are sent to a 10km X 10km island. They have bomb collars- resistance = boom. They are randomly handed a weapon, which in reality ranges from the kickass (SPAS 12, Uzi) the OK (Colt 1911, .357 Magnum, Crossbow), the ancient (sickle, knife), the sucky (paper fan, trash can lid) to the useful (megaphone, Kevlar vest, GPS with everyone's location).

The objective is simple. Deathmatch. Last man standing wins. If in three days there is more than one person alive, everyone dies. Everything is legal. Tampering with your bomb collar causes detonation.

It is a foriegn, so don't expect it at your local Blockbuster. I recommend you borrow it from a friend. *cough cough w---z cough*

Yes. I'd compare the violence level to Max Payne, but with one decapitation. Of course, everything's allowed over there. In Japan it was restricted...to 15 year olds and under.

Yeah, at the begining of Kill Bill everyone in the audience would flinch before somene got shot/stabbed/decapitated and at the end they where laughing, it was kinda creepy... Like 1984 or something.

When I saw it/ejaculated in awe of its badassity, there was one guy directly in front of me and my friends that laughed EVERY time somebody died...and that was really fucking annoying. But yea, I think the whole style of Kill Bill is to be anime-styled but live action.

Just for your information, Battle Royale 2 is out.

Here is a summary of it:


It's three years after the events of the original Battle Royale, and Shuya Nanahara is now an internationally-known terrorist determined to bring down the government. His terrorist group, Wild Seven, stages an attack that levels several buildings in Tokyo on Christmas Day, killing 8000 people.

Exactly one year afterward, the government enacts the "New Century Terrorist Counter-Measure Alternative" program, a.k.a. the BRII act, and sends the forty-two students of Shikanotoride Junior High Class 3-B to hunt Nanahara and his cohorts down in their island stronghold. Shiori Kitano, the daughter of the late headmaster of Nanahara's Battle Royale, signs up for the program, to avenge her father.

In order for the government to study the benefits of "teamwork," the new students work in pairs, with their collars electronically linked so that if one of them is killed, the other dies as well. They must kill Nanahara in three days--or die.


It's great, I recommend you go watch both BR & BRII :)

They are all kitted out in full military equipments, so they aren't going in with just pans and knives.

I think they are really just expendable cannon fodder, the army moves in to clean up after them if they succeed.

No european version yet. Though I think it will be released in the UK this year. You can get a UK version of BRI.

Anyway what Nanahara was saying is that he's going to bring down the government, stop the murdering BR acts and blah blah blah, the Teacher was just shouting out what they are going to do, and what the collars will do, so obviously one kid runs to test it out and two students die early....again. :p

Another thing i noticed in the movie. everyone is confessing their love for someone when they are laying there hal way dead.

Indeed. If I was there, I would probably try to find a way out. I couldn't kill any of my classmates, I don't hate any of them enough to do that.

mmm...If i was in the first movie I would have no trouble killing you ALL! :lol:
Obviously If i was in the second one, I would probably be alittle bit cautious. Especially if i was collared with an idiot. Then I would probable defect once I get there as Nanahara and his group were once collar-fodder-dogs too so they must know how to get the dammn things off.

I'd resist the system. Kill some guards, go down in style, whatever, just don't kill any classmates. Any government that puts kids through that is evil.
