Ok im not new to mmog game's as ive played ww2online since it's release..yes it's had more than it's share of problem's..but if you join a good unit it's that alone which make's you play as often as you shouln't..LOL

Ok in ww2online they have a 64 player visible player limit meaning over 64 and people and vehicle's blink in and out causing at time's huge confusion and annoyance....so my question is thus..has PS got the 64 player limit or have they raised the bar and gone 128???

Any meaningfull replie's will be greatly apreciated any other comment's will be thrown in the bin..thank you..;)

insert random flame here...

I don't think there will be any limits like you describe.

I remember hearing something about a 200 "limit" but even at 200 i think it will just be about lag issues not blinking and graphic problems.

I heard that with that limit it just doesn't render people not in your los. So guys inside buildings and on the far side of them just won't be rendered, you can't see them anyway so it doesn't matter.

One of the things I was thinking was that if guys behind walls aren't rendered, will guys with their heads just sticking over the edges of walls be rendered?

If you look at the screenies, those walls are big as hell, even a max doesn't look like it would show....

I think that they all will be rendered if they are withing cliping range. the 200 person limit refers to the maximum number or players on 1 continet at a time.

I think it was higher that that too though, and is subject to change. I very highly doubt the players will be blinking in and out of your screen.

there is NO armor tall enough to be seen over a wall.. not even vehicles can be seen over walls. hehe

yeah I was thinking like... if you could walk up onto ledges right near the top of the walls and fire down at people, like int he keeps in dark ages of camelot if you've played that.

Well im still unsure on this as 64 player limit i meant in field of view ....200 to a continent is poor realy as ww2online can have thousand's on same server and map at same time...

I should have said more clearly in your field of view..from what ive read of other mmog's the 64 player limit is a problem..this game seem's more small squad action's maybe ten to fifteen men..maybe wrong but hey..we shall see..:)

^possibly, but I definitely forsee some larger confrontations when the focal point is going to be around a few bases on a continent.

I'll be anxious to see what kind of performance hit there might be during those bigger confrontations. I know in DAoC during bigger RVR battles, my machine gets brought to it's knees, and while that sucks for an RPG, that would be unacceptable for a FPS.

There is a definate '64 Impala limit. The G-Ride Facility is the only base that can produce them, and gold rims cost extra.

There is no visible players limit. SmokeJumper has talked about this in the officiel forums (seach the Officiel forum updates here, and you'll proberly find the thread). He also mentions that have been playing battle with over 120 (as I recall, correct me if I'm wrong) people, without any problems.
