PS tweaks (OF Link)

I tried this, and it worked for me. PS went from unplayable in the zergs (after a december patch) to playable.

I tried it, i didn't see any noticable improvment in FPS. but i was only in the sanc because i had stuff to do

It seemed to work pretty good for a while, but when the pop-lock started counting down I did start losing FPS steadily. However, I wasn't able to stay until the continent was fully locked, and I also never ran into any of the extremely frustrating 0.1 FPS that used to pop up at least once or twice per session. Yes that's a 10 second pause between frames, and yes the ingame framerate window actually used to read that all the time for me, mostly when flying over zerged bases.

So this looks promising, but I am not going to say that it fixes 100% of everything. I'll do some more "testing" after work today and post my results.

I guess i recomend people to do it as it does no harm, and they may see some resluts.

I got about 10 fps added during a zerg battle. That was enough to make the game playable for me in a zerg, so I'm loving it.

btw I went from <10 fps to around 20 fps in a mighty zerg.

This bumped my FPS from 30 to 35 in a poplocked zerg battle on Hossin. I imagine I will get 3450734 FPS on every other continent.

i dont see any PSclient.exe eitherIt's not an Exe file, it's a registry.

Run->RegEdit->Search for PSClient.exe

Then delete the folder you find in LocalMachine->Software->Microsoft-> something like that.

Ok well I played some more today, and the problems came back. I dunno if it was wishful thinking or good luck yesterday, but today I didn't notice any improvement. And then I noticed I was hovering between 12-15% packet loss, so I'm thinking maybe it was that. So what I am trying to say is, that I can still neither confirm nor deny the validity of this "fix."

In anything slightly resembling a large battle, PS is practically unplayable for me.
I get like 130 fps, when I'm not moving, and usually 40-80 during small battles, but then for some reason when a lot of people get on my screen, I get ~.2 fps. And the only other stats that go into the red is my Downstream and Packetloss. I'm not sure what effects this, but I wish it would get fixed. And randomly for seemingly no reason it'll go down to the <1 fps region. I have no idea what the problem is, but I've been messing around with the settings and I can't get the shit to work. It's really really frustrating.

9800pro
~10g of free hdd space

any help would be much appreciated.

(oh yeah, and I tried the thing in this thread, didn't really change anything)

And just for reference, I can run any other game, including FarCry and the like, on ultrahigh everything and still get sweet framerates. This game just seems to hate me.

well you have very high Sanc FPS, try making your page file a static size
