Neither of these are my ideas. I just really like them and think they could use some recognition.
Deployable Emplacements by Hayoo (http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/planetside/Forum10/HTML/008428.html)
Real Rewards V.2 by SilentSparrow (http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/planetside/Forum10/HTML/008672.html)
Well, I had a somewhat lengthy post drawn up outlining them and what I liked about each, but I accidentally deleted it. Quick overview:
Real Rewards V.2- If combined with Hayoo's original container idea I posted, probably on page two by now, you'd see some unique looking players, and you'd also be able to identify their accomplishments.
Emplacements- Emplacements would make great chokepoints, be useful for a variety of uses, and give Combat Engineers a much-expanded role. Also check out that post's crossreferenced link to "Comtechs", a cool idea that I'll post a formal link and thoughts about later.

I dunno about some of those reward requirements. 75 kills in one life with a rifle seems practically impossible, assuming you're not sniping  :( .

Okay, I'll concede that the limitations need some work, but still. It's a great idea.

75 kills with one rifle impossible?
I got about 1300 kills and I could bet atleast 400 of those (maybe less) are from sniping.
EDIT: OH! One life... forgive me ;)

Heres a idea i just sent to Hayoo for idea lab,but before i list it are the wishful patch notes things that are getting into the game if so it'll make the wait until my dad lets me resubscribe again even longer Well heres the idea
Industrial sites from when the planet was colonized. There might be just one on a planet. These can create a new concept. Fuel for vehicles, and metals like steel. This might introduce a new tractor like vehicle. Maybe a new cert like Industry. Instead of taking power to make vehicles it would take metal and fuel. Repairs and refueling would be the reason why they aren't combined. Spawning and base repairs would take energy instead. Large trucks could carry metals mined from beneath the suface. Large fuel trucks could carry fuel from oil derricks.

Here's hoping Fame, Fortune and Glory involves some of this stuff.

Pattywick, just out of curiousity, who would want to drive those large fuel trucks?

I like it but I think some things are set a bit to high. 75 kills in ONE LIFE?! Thats nearly (if not) impossible. Highest I EVER had was like 15. And that took like 5 healings and repairs.
Edit: Talking about the rewards of course...

Yep, unless you have an incredible desire to be a cheap-ass Surgile 24/7, 75/1 is just not going to happen. Ever.

There's nothing wrong with surging....and it's probably just as impossible doing that. Imagine running in to a crowded enemy room. Sure, you're fast, but you're not invincible. Only way it is possible, is if you're a really REALLY good sniper.

hmmmm i love the emplacement. that would work amazing well. Emplacements>*

Yeah, that'd be a major feat. But, then again, I don't think it's meant to be easy. You'd pull it off given enough months of attempting it, and when you finally get it... well, it'd be a badge of recognition, that's for sure.

No, that section of my site is just wishful thinking and hoping. :) I got the idea to make the notes from looking at the Dark Age of Camelot updates. I thought it would be fun to pretend all this stuff was actually going in the game soon, but it's definately not the real thing.
*update: Thanks for the nod, LNS. :) By the way, the most current Comtech certification description can be found here (http://www.jeffmcdowall.com/planetside/idea_newcertifications.shtml#comtech).

No problem. Should compile a complete list of all the emplacements.
pssst. hurry up with the schematics and crosssections ;-)

Just talked to Hayoo about it, bots probably one of each type of truck on a continent each controlled by team who controls industrial plant. Also people could jump into driver seat 3-6 minute respawn if its destroyed.
If I could get a little badass badge for killing 75 people without dying, I would lose sleep.

I have a section reserved in the Idea Terminal for a full list and explanation of all the emplacements. I hope to get that done in the coming weeks.

lol. I'm trying to get content in as soon as possible, but it's very time consuming, especially the cutaways. For cutaway buildings (the Gun Tower will be the first) you have to decide what angle to draw it from, what elevations to use, make sure the perspective is correct, make sure all important doorways and terminals are exposed, then there's the colors, correct textures, design clarity, etc. *pant, pant* And I have to do this without any of the source material like models or concept art (I get strange tells when people see this lone skeeter hovering like a looney above a lonely tower). It's an exercise in reverse-engineering really. I also need to make it compatible for 3 different types of media: Image, Wallpaper, and Flash diagram (animated doors, people), and that means high resolutions and high detail. I'll try to finish them as quickly as I can, but no promises on speed. :) I already have a day-job as a graphic artist.
Added: Here's a site I put on hold till I can finish the Idea Lab. It gives some example of the first-phase sketching I do before making the finished illustration: Starwarspark.com (http://www.starwarspark.com/)

As would I, but I think that is the point.
For even thinking about accomplishing this, medical and engineering would be a must, but even then, I would gladly fork over my locker 'o' enemy weapons to anybudy with one of those medals!

As would I. People qould scramble to invite me into their squads the instant I said "LFS", then get all confused when their 2-year-old little sister can take me out :D .

what is a cutaway building?
Something like this (http://www.loc.gov/jefftour/cutaway.html), this (http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/stmagazine/delta-cutaway.jpg), or this (http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/gallery/factfiles/ee-engineering.jpg)
As opposed to a cross section which looks like this (http://www.esru.strath.ac.uk/Courseware/Case-study/blagoevgrad_swu/fig3.gif), or this (http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/other/defiant-okudagram.jpg).
Sometimes the words "cutaway" and "cross-section" get mixed up, but they all represent the same idea; reveals the inner structure of an object or building.

I dunno, 75 to 1 may not be impossible.
Thinking about my sniper character, I had well over 100 kills one night without dying once. Overall I think i only died three times that night.
Regularly I can go out and get 10 to 15 with my gauss during base defense. If you played smart and weren't to aggressive I think you could easily get your 75 kills.
*EDIT: Hmm...do I smell an incentive to be rez'd? Medic buff?
These are 2 great ideas!
Hay SOI, Listen up!

Thanks :)
You probably mean SOE (sony online entertainment) instead of SOI (sphere of influence)...unless that's some inside joke I don't know about (it happens).
