At About 4:20 Am Central time A Few VS Found A Way To Exploit the Router. They had it on ISH near Amerish WarpGarp and were Using it to Warp TO BAAL!!! for crying out loud!!! how far does this thing go. Well I was told By Mavzspecop of the VS, said and i Quote, "They Buffed It", Now I Wanna Know If This Is True Or Not. Oh Did I mention the had the Telepad on the Cieling in the Generator Room!!, But he says It is not cheating!! LOL will welcome feed back on this.

I dont Recall hearing or reading anything on a range limit on the router, but on the genny room Ceiling, hmm you can deploy certain things on lower ceilings (boomers), but i nothing that high...

There is a bug that many people on VS werner may be familiar with that allows an apparent unlimited range.

maybe the router was abducted by aliens and replaced with something really usefull!
i mean thats how the router should work, mayube not that far, but it does need a fairly large upgrade in the range dewpartment!

I spent a good half an hour at Caer on emerald last night stopping the vs from routing into the generator room. We had to have 2 full squads looking for the router non stop. If this problem catches on then the generators will be history as will the gameplay we are used to. How it got up in the corner is beyond me though......

I was there too Ultimatedogg. I was the cloaker in the Gen room killing the offenders with a Spiker :) Anyways, they were petitioned and a CSR logged it so maybe those VS will get banned.
Anyone on Emerald - Foresal at Anu yesterday at about 6pm CST knows what I am talking about. VS were exploiting the shit out of a router bug. The VS router was at the Amerish warpgate outpost tower and they were using it to port into the Anu gen room. Look at the map sometime and its fucking obvious as hell that that is a huge exploit. Nevertheless this outfit was exploiting the shit out of this bug over and over and over again. They even managed to get the router link in the top of the Gen room where the link pad was in the ceiling and could not be destroyed. The VS coming through the link swore to one of our CR5s that the router was in legal range. Knowing this was bullshit one of our CR5s got the attantion of CSR tho so hopefully bans will be coming soon. godamnit I hate exploiters

I just read this more carefully. These must have been the same people. Ours was in the Gen room ceiling and could not be destroyed. Lets make sure and get these asses banned

yeah queensidecastle that was quite a night(nice spiker use btw). Not only do they need to ban the people who used it but they also need to remove that exploit now. Pretty soon all your going to see is gens falling due to this.

On a slightly difrent note, amd i the only one who whould like to see the router get a considerable range buff? I miss the tribes:renegades teleporters. Not unlimited range mind you but pretty far, and the enemy couldnt use them, was grand.

According to SmokeJumperPS - the range of the router is 300m - unchanged from last patch. i.e. no buff - so obviously this is a bug.

Isn't this how the Router SHOULD work?

This brings up an interesting conundrum. The devs said that a range boost would be a problem because of "technology" issues. While I don't think a router should have unlimited range on a continent, why change it back to 300m? Most users agree that range is next to useless. Something like 600m would be much more reasonable. Can anyone find a compelling reason not to?
