what will happen if someone respawn, but doesnt move from their possition as another person trys to respawn at that tube?

Will the presumably AFK guy get tellefragged, or the newcomer?

Will it say all spawn tubes occupied if you have a squad of greifers in them and prevent people from spawning there?

Too many what if scenarios. What if this, what if that?

What if I was trying to run a guy over in a mosquito but missed and than I slid down a mountain into a lake! what if then!?

There is no collision inside of a spawn tube or inside of a warp gate bubble. Characters (and vehicles in the instance of the warp gate bubble) can interpenetrate each other in those areas.

Fictional rationalization: You are in a dimensional flux state in both of those areas, one in preparation for using the warp gate core for transition, and the other because you've just been rematrixed and are not quite stabilized yet.

Game rationalization: We expect a lot of players to be in both of those positions at the same time and we don't check collision in those areas to prevent the exact nasty bottlenecks you're describing.

SmokeJumper, does respawning hurt? As a followup question, is interpenetration as uncomfortable as it sounds?

Nice answer SmokeJumper, and technically sound as well. Nice to see you folks are thinking up reasons for things instead of just saying "because" as an explanation. Shows the amount of thought and dedication given by the devs to this game.

The Vanu already knew that.....

And little guy, dont let the l33t whores get you down, some of use are not destioned for l33t whoreness, but you can still be cool if your a Vanu. If your not, well......but that aside, Hamma, the man the Hammler youth was made after, fought a saddly losing battle against a lake, and he ended up drowning, last time Hamma Played that was. Also SmokeJumpers not a l33t whore, but hes still cool, almost as cool as a Vanu. You will notice that he seems to know alot about Planetside.

He's also about the only person you should ever suck up to on this forum b/c he's the guy who directly affects the game you're going to be wasting the rest of the year on.

I wouldnt exactly say "wasting." You may learn alot from playing PS. How to drive a mosquito into a lake perhaps?

To let you in on the joke, Hamma is so uber that the King of SOE sent his private jet to take him to see the latest build of Planetside one day. When he got there, he was suprised to find that the other people invited to the demo were Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw, Dave Letterman, and Chasey Lane. They played planetside all day long, and at one point, Tom was jumping around near a lake and Hamma ran over him from behind in his mosquito, sending Mr. Brokaw flighing through the air and slamming the skeeter into the water. Afterwards they all had a laugh and when Chasey wandered over and asked what they were laughing about, Hamma said, "I just flew my mosquito right into Tom Brokaw's ass."

Chasey was a bit offended by Hamma's language and she corrected him: "You mean rectum."

Hamma stared at her for a second and said, "Wrecked em? Damn near killed em!"

You can read all about it in the excellent review he wrote afterwards (http://www.planetside-universe.com/articles.php?articleId=24).
