Apparently, one of the game types involves a deathmatch in space in fighter craft.

Unreal has some sweet physics and pixel-shading. I think it will be worth it.

Plus, Unreal 2 was a bomb, and I think they're lean and hungry now for a slice of that FPS pie.

Soon we'll be choosing between PlanetSide, UT2k4, Doom 3, Half-Life 2 and Halo 2. Woah. I wish they'd make Aliens vs. Predator 3, but I won't hold my breath.

It's really really fun, best one yet, it's more along the lines of Unreal Tourney original that UT 2k3 , IT HAS TEH SNIPER RIFLE! AND THE REDEEMER! AND THE ORBITAL STRIKE GUN!

To check out all the guns, go in a single player game, hit the console, and type loaded, the weps are really fun to mess around with

I really dig Onslaught mode, absolutely love it. Too bad you can't repair the last node. Those turrets that look like mechs are badass, I love that rapid fire heavy duty shock rifle thing they have going on. I gotta figure out how the Scorpion I think does that blade thing for the extra coverage in search of that glorious hood ornament kill. I think it's awesome that you can hit different numbers when you're in a multi-passenger vehicle a-la BF1942. The assault map is pretty cool unless you forget to double jump and accidentally get your face ground to a bloody pulp on the sands below. That's all I've played for now. Maybe more later if I get all this work done.

Onslaught is VERY fun

Tip : Rush to the top of the tower, and get a redeemer, shoot at the enemy RIGHT when you get a link, redeemer kills nodes in one shot, and it'll take a gener- erm... damnit. A core under 50 in one shot. I won a match, less than 3 min, over 80 kills, by doing that

They're like a sports/deathmatch game now, along the lines of madden & stuff, so basically, what I see in the future for UT, is every year or 2, they're gonna come out with a new upgraded one. I love the ion pointer, if the OS was like that in PS. Pure. Ownage.

yea, the whole vehical part of this game makes it feel alot like planetside, especialy the onslaught mode, at least, it feels like a fast planetside.

Its also got a built in teamspeak like server that has diffrent voice channels. The Special Edition of UT2004 (60 Bucks) comes with the game on 1 DVD instead of 6 CDs. and comes with a logetic headset. UT2004 has all the content from UT2003 so the minimum installation is.........5.5 GB

Sweet. Onslaught alone makes it worth it--haven't even looked at the other game modes (don't care if I ever do, either). I'm not much of a UT fan at all, but Onslaught is crazy fun. I'll be watching to see when the server goes up. I second the Onslaught -- if it stays on the one onslaught map and nothing else, that will be fine by me (you can switch the node links to make the rounds interesting, you know... after a few matches).

It was hillarious. Two story's for you guys when i was fucked with Hamma.

I'm in game, Hamma is on my team and he stops in a Helbringer or whatever that big Hummer thing is. Honks the horn, and i scream into the voice comms "BRING IT ON" and whip out my Avril rocket launcher when all of a sudden i get decapitated by Navarone in one of those swoopy things. Then, me and Hamma are running and i say over comms "Damn Hamma....nice ass baby" he turns around and backpeddals right into one of those swoopy things that decapitates me AND him. Funny stuff

Overall it was a blast. We need to do this more!

Not with this game. Too fast. Besides, the only good server I've seen is PSU's, which until Hamma changes it to rotation, only has the Lightning Gun, a smaller anti-infantry/vehicle weapon.

Sniper rifle > Lightning gun, lightning has a SHIT scope, and it has a wierd fire rate, like, JUST enough time to fuck up yoru shot after you pull the trigger, sniper rifle is instant I think

The Shock Rifle is good if you have good aim, or a long ways to the target (as in the Hall of Fat center.) But it still sucks. Sniper owns it.
