My cousins just moved up north and they are comming home from school in tears because everyone makes fun of them, calling them stupid just because they are southeners. If I thought it would make any difference I would drive up their and kick their butts. I don't like to hear my family is ripped on.

Friday Jefferson County Authorities issued a warrant for the arrest of former Hazel Green High School teacher Jeffrey McReynolds on charges of child pornography. He is charged with possession of obsene material showing children under the age of 17.

He had to bond out of a Birmingham-area jail this weekend on charges of possessing child pornography. Investigators believe McReynolds made a video of a 15-year-old boy engaging in sex acts in Madison County. They believe he then took the tape with him to St. Clair County. Kid, the states thought of as Southern states due to the Civil War are the states which were the initial focus, not the states which got involved later. Texas is not 'the south', and it never has been.

Wow, I'm amazed at people's opinions on this. Georgia is the south. Alabama is the south. Texas is not the south. Texas is the southwest, just like New Mexico, Arizona, California, etc. Also, to classify all of Texas (a state larger than many countries) as having a single state of mind is more than a little short sighted.
