MA over HA

Just curious, do any of you take MA over HA in all situations? if you do state your reason y you do. I personally cant decide, the MCG is awesome up close but has just lost its glow with me, The cycler seems awesome at medium ranges but in a close range-flank fight it doesnt do as good as i would hope, but then again i havent really tried to hard to adapt to it.

Moving on to the main topic, i use guass (MA) over the jackhammer (HA) all the time.

Get rexo, pack both for circumstances you cant forsee.


Ex: We're doing some indoor fighting. Get in my grunt loadout (HA/MA) run around with lasher. See no one is fighitng indoors. Go up top, 10 vanguards are all rolling around, shooting at mosquitos, who are shooting back. Chip in my 2 cents, and start shooting them with AP pulsar rounds, which probably didnt do anything, damn damage degredation.

I certed HA early in the game, and dropped it early. Just couldn't get those discoballs to be effective :P

I usually use a Sweeper/Pulsar combo indoors now.
Or Sweeper/Lancer, or Pulsar/Lancer for Max tight situations.

And I must say, I prefer the other teams MA over the pulsar, even though I love the Pulsar too.

I killed a NC with the Pulsar, and then stole his Gauss. Kept using the Pulsar till the ammo was out (cus I only had 8 rounds with the Gauss heh :P). Then took out the Gauss, and I believe that with all eight rounds hit one NC guy, and he died. I took his gauss, didn't have time to take spare ammo, because of nearby enemies. And shoot 2 other NC with it (Crouch, Semi-Snipe style).

Semi-Sniping with the Pulsar isn't effective at medium and highr range, while it is with the gauss, and even more so with the Cycler I think...

The AV mode on the Pulsar is rather nice when you have to deal with Spitfires and the like.

I like my Cycler but I love the MCG too (addicted to machine gun fire) but it costs to much so I'll take my DC MAX. costs less twice the sound. (I'm in heaven)

I just recently certed HA, I felt like after the rexo buff the sweeper was holding me back from full on pwnage.

I mainly use MCGs from my locker, awsome weapon.

Being TR (and thus blessed with the Cycler), I use MA over the MCG all the time. It's so adaptable that I can use it in any situation. Yes, any HA will have an edge over me, but I found that that's a tradeoff I'm willing to take (and can manage).

Cycler is my main weapon by far. The MCG is...ok, but it's not versatile enough for 4 cert points. I can crouch on the roof of a base with my cycler, and pick people off on towers on the fringe of the SOI, and can even take down jackhammers inside if I get the jump on them. Versatility = win.

Can I ask you lasher users something? Why would you step out from behind cover and start shooting at a Lightning that's about 30m away that has no idea you're there? I had three or four different people try to do this to me last night (obviously things didn't go too well for them).

Only have 2 chars with HA...NC and VS. The Jackhammer really isn't that impressive unless you can combine some dirty tricks/luck to get in really close. Sweeper is more effective in most cases. I like the sound of it though and that guy has had it since June or so...so why change now? I use the Gauss anytime I don't think I'll be indoors though.

The Lasher I have on a minor alt...really just to play with it. I've never been terribly impressed with it, but again...fun sounds and neat disco balls. That and the fact that the Lasher is better than the Pulsar...

The MCG was actually a fun one to mess around with (did so during the CC beta), but I like other TR things better. The Cycler is more versatile, which frees me up to carry AV or other weapons.

Best weapon in the game: Beamer...j/k...I'd have to go with my favorite weapon being the Cycler for indoors combat...Sweeper requires too many reloads in heavy fighting.

However, in CQB...HA>MA, which is what it's supposed to be.

Anywhere I go I have a Striker so it limits me a little. I use MCG + Striker inside, Cycler + Striker for distance, and Punisher w/ Plasma's + Striker for wall defense.

guass and sweaper, sweaper indoors, guass outdoors, im real good at guass sniping.

with a deci on me at all times, even when in agile. switch inventory key to ` and right click the deci, makes swaping and killing maxs easy.

I use an MCG when the fighting goes indoors. Outside, I take the Cycler, hands down. I don't really use the sweeper, since the MCG seems to fit the CQ bill just fine. I've recently starting using the Punisher again, for both indoors and outdoors, typically when assaulting a base. If I can get a direct hit with a plasma nade, then follow up with some 9mm, just about anything dies, surgile or otherwise.

Well, I think that could apply to any weapon not just a Lasher... and the reasons are many... I make a sacrifice like that if I need to draw attantion of the vehicle away from something critical, like an AMS or a team hacking a door to gain entry to a tower/base...

While you are thinking "Man, wadda dumbass, I just got an easy kill" and drive off... I'm smiling from the grave "Man, wadda dumbass, he had no idea how close he came to real paydirt... I bought him off with chump change"

Moral of the story... we are all dumbasses.. ;)

Cycler all the way. Nothing else can match up to it. NOTHING!!!!! I've adapted to using it in every situation.

It's all situational...when I know I'm going to be outside, MA & AV, when im inside, HA & AV. I never leave home without my AV. With the deci moving to AV, Ill have an indoor, and an outdoor AV too.

I am actually not going to recert AV for a while. Partially in protest for a stupid nerf and partially because I cant stand the fact that I have to spend 3 more certs now to do the same thing I always did.

I am going to take Lemons and make Lemonade. I will try using thumper with Frags since the ammo boxs got way upgraded. The Thumper is an ausome weapon when in tandem with HA in Rexo. Now being able to carry all 3 ammo types, this may be a very viable tactic. I know Frags from thumpers kills MAXs very fast from past experiences so I hope this is a workable solution for folks in my situation

Ya know im an MCG man, personally (with rocklet, deci, or thumper) but I got owned the other day by some guys with guass rifles, It burned right threw to my health, I died with nearly half my armor left in a full rexo, its pretty powerful

i also switched back to HA, it was just too crazy killing a rexo with 6 sweeper shots

Been playin around lately with HA and MA and found that the sweeper doesnt even come close to cutting it at close combat. The MCG fires faster, does decent damage, and the cycler is close to being as good at point blank but it does spit them out fast enough, but if you lose your eat then you b screwed. MCG at close range, Cycler at any other range.
