Does anyone know if, after the patch, personal shield will be able to be left on indefinatly while not moving and crouching?

Yeah, but with DL, you can leave it on indefinatly if you crouch and don't move. Will Personal Shield have the same effect after the patch. It would be wicked cool for my sniper. :D

I'm thinking it'd be kind of handy too, but only for those rare occassions when two snipers shoot at me at once and I get instantly killed. Just gotta make sure you don't have infiltrators draining all your stamina when they attack, though, or you'll have none left for Darklight.

edit: On second thought, this won't be good for snipers, I think. Being shot will take off a very large chunk of stamina, far more than you can regenerate in a decent amount of time. I think you'd be putting too much on the line by using Shield while sniping for little gain, as you should have a Repair/Medical tool anyway. The only thing I can see it being useful for is avoiding the double-shots from snipers, but even then, you can't predict when it'll happen, and you're throwing away valuable stamina in the meantime.

i don't know, but Enhanced targeting and range mag do it now. Pshield's drain has been much reduced its great.

Pshield is great, if my Stamina is full i can take another sniper bolt, it gives a great advantage in sniper duels

the Shield takes 1/3rd stamina cost for being turned on now I believe.

So if you sit still, will it balance itself out? So you don't loose stamina I mean. Especially with the Enhanced Targeting and Range Enhancer (or whatever it's called now again), having no stamina drain at all.

It might be my 3rd Implant now then when sniping (which I will be doing a lot now in the future I think, already doing it by a fair amount).

(BTW, I reached BR18 today! Yey!)

I don't know about you, but in sniper duels the instant I get hit I withdraw into cover. I don't see any advantage to having PS for snipers.

If you have the shield on Warborn, you will survive the next shot.

But what war is saying, is that there wont be a next shot. He will be behind cover healing up by then. I see his point. PS will still be usless :(.

Of course, if you pop behind cover to repair the instant you're hit, the enemy sniper will just sit there and wait for you to pop right back out again so he can get another shot. With PS, you have enough time to take your own shot. If you hit them and they get behind cover, just let your stamina regen and wait for them to pop back out to hit them. If they take a shot before getting into cover, you get into cover, repair, and let stamina regen.

If you can stay out you can keep your aim

I just tested personal shield with my max and its great. I can absorb 1 extra lancer shot, more splash damge from vehicle guns. I think that more max units would use personal shield more than say an infiltrator. Plus it also absorbs falling damage too.

Your reticule will shrink back to being accurate before he reloads anyway, provided he isn't using two sniper rifles. You could keep your aim without it, but even then, to what end? Unless the enemy sniper is an idiot or a newbie, if you actually damage his health, he'll go back into cover and heal himself. Sniper duels typically end with one guy outflanking the other guy and catching him unawares, or something interdicting (another sniper shooting him, for instance), allowing you to get a killing shot where the guy didn't think there'd be a killing shot. Otherwise it's just a bunch of "get shot, go and heal" stuff. I generally don't even waste my bullets with sniper duels when I know the other guy will just heal himself, and I don't see the new Personal Shield changing that.

I just tested it on the test server, and woo, it doesn't drain any stamina when you are sitting still crouching. Well it drains one or two, but those are recovered immediatelly, so it keeps fighting the drain.

Being able to survive 3 shots is great.

Consider this.
A sniper gets a shot on you, you notice where it's from. He see you don't run for cover, so he plans to shoot you a 2nd time. He hasn't noticed you wasn't damaged (I've heard from various forums that many snipers don't use Adv.Targeting, sorry for them... ;)) from the first shot. You get a shot in him pretty quick, and he shoots you a second time, you survive, he reloads thinking he would have killed you from that shot. And, BAM! he's dead. You just shot your 2nd shot.

Does using two sniper rifles actually make you faster?

PShield + Second Wind + Medkits = /drool

A tiny bit faster, yeah. I only really think it's very useful when fighting other snipers, as sometimes they hang around a bit too long after the first shot. I'd rather carry a Decimator/Striker instead of a second rifle though, for MAXs/aircraft.

If you know where a sniper is coming from, in most situations, you can make it so you can shoot him with out him being able to shoot you. I am not going to give away my trade secret on how to pull this off, though. (it isn't much of a secret, most enemies I duel use the same tactic anyway, so of you don't know how then shame on you. :D) Most of my sniper duels degrade in to two snipers not moving and trying to hit the other. Most often, no one can score a hit. If someone does, the other retreats and heals, and then the stupidity continues.

By turning PS on after the first sniper shot, you buy yourself enough time to duck or shoot back.
