I care not what people think, this is my internet home, and I consider you friends, all my RL friends have met her, and know this, now you all do as well. Gunny thinks she is wonderful and is very happy for me.

Apart from the name you just described someone I know right now and would love to ask out actually. Only my own morals dictate that I don't do shit about it. Rather frustrating actually.

In any case, cool shit, Mr. V. :)

Has anyone noticed how Hamma's gf is also called Jenny? But different spelling.

Well may you pass away together peacefully. (is that the right thing to say)

I honestly jsut noticed that myself, you know I don't come out of my Political Debater Dungeon to this board often, so I miss things like that lol.

Dude, Go meet your girl, I drove 25 miles and 40 minutes, getting lost ont he way, to meet Jen, and it was the best thing I had EVER done. She is.. perfect.

After my marriage collapsed, I was pretty sure I would be searching for a loing long time, met a few girls, but they all... pale in ways I can't describe compared to Jen. She is amazing.

As long as she is single and of age, yes do it.. unless you are talking about a family memebr, then you grossed me out.

She probably isn't a family member, but I can just see odd images coming to mind.

Ugh, thank's for that image >_<

No, nothing like that. Ok, background time I guess. So there's this girl I know. I've known her for awhile as just sort of a friend but she's funny, cute, common interests the whole nine yards. However there are a few issues.

Lets deal with me first. I recently (December) ended a relationship that I'd been in since '99. Long story short is just wasn't going to go anywhere and it took both of us way too long to realize that. We're still friends but coming out of a 4 year relationship isn't an easy thing to do. Not that I'm crying myself to sleep at night by any means, but it takes some time to put away a relationship that lasted that long. Even taking that into consideration I still think I'm probably ready to start dating again.

Now to the issue that prevents me from taking action. To put it simply, she's seeing someone and someone she's been seeing for quite awhile. There's a couple of catches though.

First of all, he's a really bad boyfriend. No, there's no abuse or anything like that, he just plain sucks ass at being a boyfriend. I guess what you can sum it up as is being totally unappreciative of what you've got. Now there is extensive evidence of this, but I'm trying to keep this a little vauge so, sorry, but no specifics. The other thing is she's told me she doesn't know why she's still going out with him which, to me, is a pretty good indicator something isn't working out. I dould probably tell her why she's still with him, but at this point in time it's really not any of my business to be doing so.

But here's the thing. While I'd probably be doing her a favor by asking her out, and I get the strong feeling she'd say yes (in fact she's kind of hinted that would be a good idea), I will not get between two people. I just won't. To me it's akin to cheating on a girl, it's something you just plain don't fucking do. I mean, I can justify it to myself all day, but when all is said and done I'll always believe it was the wrong thing to do. Even if the relationship we had together was the best thing ever, it would have been started off by me asking someone who is involved out on a date.

So thus, my own morals fuck me over. Oh well *raises bottle of Captain Morgan Private Stock* here's to hoping she realizes, as I did, that staying in a relationship for the sake of being in a relationship is a really dumb thing to do.

Elf, you think too much.

Happy lil Elf
2004-02-15, 02:45 AM
I hear that a lot. Believe me I know. I'll literally spend a day debating about picking up the $20 bill I just saw someone drop while getting into a cab. Of course by that time the $20's been taken by someone else >_<

So you come here for love advice?

Happy lil Elf
2004-02-15, 03:09 AM
Not at all. I already know what I'm going to do for the time being: Nothing. Simply clarifying for Vicc.

How's that ginger ale doing, Oct?

Octavian
2004-02-15, 03:10 AM
Meh, if you want to.

Haven't been able to buy any yet, but don't bring that up here. I have enough death wishes.

Yes you do need to get some fresh air.

You do realize that's a quote from Mr. V and not me, right you twit? If you want to post your trademark one line idiocies, Oct, go elsewhere. This is neither the time nor the place for it. ;)

Octavian
2004-02-15, 03:29 AM
Yes I do realise that. I wanted to reply to one of Mr. V's posts without double posting.

You sound like my mum, she sometimes calls me a twit.

Happy lil Elf
2004-02-15, 03:32 AM
Just checking. Use the quote buton next time, helps prevent misunderstandings. Anyways, you should probably listen to your mum more often then, she sounds like a wise woman.

Octavian

I did use the quote button. But I didn't want to double post.

She calls me a twit offline, but it'd be embarassing if she started posting here and called me a twit.

She calls me a twit offline, but it'd be embarassing if she started posting here and called me a twit. This is true. However you do have to admit that would be really really funny.

And yes I know, I come here to escape the real forum at PSU.

Grats vic! get her to start posting, so we can scare her off ;)

I need to find a gamer-girl.

Octavian

Don't worry Eine, they're multiplying quite quickly. I predict than in 5 years, there should be at least double the number of gaming girls. If not triple.

Working on it, she has read the forums, now I just need her to feel the need to actually post lol! Thats up to Jen tho, and if she does, she does, if not, I still love her all the same.

Aye, it's a social stigma that's rapidly being destroyed. Especially with games that everyone enjoys and are based on multiplayer play like the Mario Party series for example.

Octavian
2004-02-15, 04:04 AM
The Mario games are getting a bit old. It's fun when you come back to it after a few months, but it quickly loses its replay value.

Happy lil Elf
2004-02-15, 04:09 AM
Right, but to someone who has never played them, or any other games for that matter, they can be addictring as hell. Once someone realizes they've just spent 6 hours playing a video game, and that they had a really good time doing it, the thougts of "Oh, video games just aren't for me" starts to break down.

Octavian
2004-02-15, 04:10 AM
You need to have breaks in between. Play some other game for 20-30 mins.
