I just got back from Daytona. Wasn't a very good race IMO, since I'm not a Dale Jr. fan. But the early parts were exciting. Anyone else go to the 500?

No, didn't even make an attemp to watch it. I find going around in a circle like that boring, except when there are big crashes

I caught a few minutes of it here and there during the race (didn't go).

NASCAR is only interesting if someone wrecks.

Pizza never even came, imo. Had to go to PFC.

Die 500, die.

I almost had to run over a bunch of race fans in order to get back to my apartment.

Stupid retards - when you see a car turning off a main road, STOP WALKING ACROSS THE DAMNED STREET AND LET THEM THROUGH.

Roundy-round racing sucks and is skillless. Any idiot can drive a "stock car" (with new engine, chassis, stripped interior, rollcage, bigger tires) in a circle for a few hours. To make things interesting, your car breaks down after a while.

Formula 1 owns all, but nobody watches it.

martyr, Blizzard, and Triggar are pissed because they live in Daytona. Poor them. Point and laugh! HAHAHA!

omg, this isnt the flame NASCAR thread. if you didnt go or watch it dont post. i dont give a shit if you hate the sport, thats not the issue at stake. and im not going to even start going into my arguement about nascar not taking conditioning to do.

Um, excuse me? It is very skillful, and very fun if you are in the race. If you are watching it, most people including myself find it boring. But it does take skill.

Alot of people watch Formula 1. And Formula 1 is actually less about skill, as it is more about the car. At least in Nascar, most cars are equal. In Formula 1, it's Ferrari or a piece of shit.

In a way, that pretty much sums up F1... and that's coming from someone that used to watch it religiously on Speed every week.

imho, WRC is one of the few car racing styles that requires excessive amounts of skill, persistance, and mechanical reliability. Just watch some of it and you'll understand.

I just find that funny for some reason.

Driving in races is very fun, but i don't like watching them, except for snowracing were they slide all around the corners its kinda funny.

Where were you sitting? I was in Section T(i think), row 3, seat 16 (backstretch by the tower). I got top quality pics of the micheal waltrip crash that i need to get developed. That was my first nascar race and how to make it better than go to the supper bowl of them all. Wow.

And my money was partly on Dale Jr. to get within the top 10 n 5 and Jeff Gordon within the top 5....exact opposite, lost 40 bucks. But I'm proud to see Jr. win his first D500.

Oh did you g in those Dodge Trucks n Cars fishtailing in front of the track. I did....crap tat truck is nice....but its a fucking devil....or that driver is.

And by far....race weekend=trailertrash speakin redneck weekend, I almost took a picture of one dude that was pure bread redneck.

That new dodge truck is the competition for my lightning I believe

If the Lightning can do the crazy shit that dodge can, the Ford wins. I've only sat in that Lightning at a car show.

I saw a video of Ben Affleck riding in one of the cars, funny as hell, he almost pissed himself, the guy took him RIGHT next to the wall.

i was only there for the 500 didnt watch the truck or busch races. I was on the frontstretch, right b4 u go into turn 1. i believe the Lockhart tower section I. It seems I always miss the big wreck whenever I go. Last time I went the big one happened in turn 1 and I was on the backstretch and the time b4 it was in like the 4th turn and i was on the opposite side of the backstretch.

And yes driving a 750 hp stock car takes a LOT of skill. As Jeff Gordon puts it in his biography, its like being in a traffic jam, only about 10 times faster and 300 times longer.

F1 and WRC are all interesting too, but I like the close racing in NASCAR.

and hamma i think ur escalade could pimp out the dodge truck easy

I definitely think it's ignorant to say that racecar driving is "just driving around in a circle" and takes no skill. Probably just as ignorant as saying that airline pilots are glorified bus drivers.
