View Full Version : Rearm/Repair Pads/Silos

I was thinking about a few things to help base defenders. One of the things I was thinking of was the aircraft rearm/repair pads and the vehicle rearm/repair silos in all of the bases and how they only work if you have a link to a friendly Dropship Center.

I think it would help defenders out greatly if these would work all the time and have a significant speed boost if you have a link to a Dropship Center. This would perhaps lessen the value of having a Dropship Center. So? You would still need it for Liberators, Loadstars, and Galaxies. And having it would boost your rearm and repair capabilities. Even this is more beneficial than a Biolab.

And then there is the logic of it. Why can an air tower have a set of functional rearm/repair pads without a friendly Dropship Center, but an entire base cannot?

Anyway, I was wondering your thoughts on this idea. My overall goal is to put forth a list of adjustments to help base defenders fend off a Zerg. This one thing would surely help at least as long as you can hold your CY.

With my list I wanna "hash out" the pros and cons with you guys and come up with a well though out list before I post it in the OF for DEV attantion and mindless flaming from the masses there... lol. :)

You get Libs from a Tech Plant, not a Dropship Center.

Good Idea, but camped way too easily. A Lancer/Striker/Pheonix user could just sit there, pointed at the Pad/Silo waiting for something to come. Boom, the Aircraft/Vehicle is probably already near dead, if the pads are always available this is just more kills for the attackers.

It's a risk.

Great idea. Biolabs should make all linked medical terminals advanced like they did back in the day, too.

Eh, you're right, I guess. Maybe Dropship Centres could cut the Vehicle time in half.

not entirely off topic, why can't I chose a default load to spawn my veichles with? so I don't have to rearm it every time I buy it? and maybe making the damn thing have a full shield if the facility has that benefit so I don't have to sit for an hour waiting for my tank to be ready.

as for custom vehicle loadouts yes that would be quite nice

another question, though, shouldn't the medical terminals in the sanctuary be advanced ones?

That is a great idea (especially for maxs). I don't see why each base isn't equipped with an advanced med terminal. While they are at it, put one in sanctuary too!!!!
