What's the meanest, rudest, most awesome or otherwise coolest artifact you've ever seen? It can be anything from any story, movie, real life, legend, etc.

I'll start with the sword Excalibur.

edit: by artifact I mean anything man-made. Doesn't have to be in the fantasy theme.

How is the Excalibur rude?

Edit: Nevermind, I am thick.

StormBringer and Mournblade: The Elric Chronicles.

Nothing like a sentient sword that is capable of swallowing souls with reckless abandon and transferring strength to the bearer. Without a doubt, the most evil artifact I've ever read about.

1. Armaggedon's Blade in Heroes of Might and Magic III was an insanely powerful artifact, considering that it summoned a doomsday firestorm that rained upon everyone but the person wielding the blade.

2. Sajuuk, from Homeworld 2, is an awesome artifact as well. (Warning: if you haven't finished the game yet and don't want to know what it is, read no further). Sajuuk is a an ancient spacecraft that originated in a distant part of the universe. It is both a weapon and a god in its own right, and it's supposedly able to control all of the underlying energy in the galaxy.

I think I'll go with the obvious. Nuclear weaponry.

Don't MOABs produce a lot more bang for the buck when you consider how many can be produced without the need for nuclear fuel or the concern of long-term pollution?

Nope, because with a nuke you can't miss and one shot is all it takes. As for pollution, you're asking for rudeness. It doesn't get much more rude than irradiating your enemy's home country ;)
