I was born in Detroit (Midwest, I answered "Devil's Night" for the night before Haloween), moved to the South (Central Florida) and then moved to Miami, a No-Man's-Land when it comes to the Yankee vs. Southerner debate.

Did I mention that neither of my parents are American? I have no idea how to "properly" say some of the words according to region.

38% (Yankee). A definitive Yankee.

Don't ask for a "coke" unless you want a can of Coca-fucking-cola. If you are from the south, and are upset because when you ask for a coke you get a can of Coca-Cola instead of a Mt Dew, you're an idiot. I'm sorry, but you are. Coke is shor for conain or Coca-Cola. It is not a universal name for everything that's cabonated and has too much sugar in it. It's pop, soda or, if you're in a particularily nerdy mood, "Caustic Carbonated Sugar Water". Personally I prefer pop, it's shorter.

Sorry about that, I have cousins who live in TN and insist that everything that's carbonated is "coke". Drives me nuts >_<

stfu elf, theyre right!!!! :p

honestly, i do the same fucking thing, its just, like this, mom say what do you want to drink? i say coke, she says what kind of coke, and i tell her rootbeer! or at least, i used to do that. its funny seeing those tendancies in people, and that my family isnt the only ones.

Happy lil Elf
2004-02-24, 10:27 AM
Why don't you just ask for a damn rootbeer in the first place?

Once again, coke is a type of carbonated beverage. It is not a universal name for all of them. Would you ask for a Sprite if you wanted a Dr Pepper? Of course not, that would be stupid. Same principal ;)

And I assure you- the night before Haloween is Devil's night. There are riots in Detroit.
