I have been playing PS since the very early Beta Stages as a tester. I got fed up with the redundent gameplay mechanics and quit in August of last year. I am now wondering if I should go back to PS or not. Hvae there been any really good updates in gameplay/ changes to it that would make a person like me want to come back? The Core Combat Expo has gotten my interest in PS back up recently and that is why I am having reoccuring thoughts of returning to what was once one of my favorite games of all time.

CC - lukewarm...they'll be adding some benefits that will make cavern fights more worthwhile.
Capitols are a major gameplay shift, and will add a much more interesting dynamic. That should be coming out next week...this week if the Devs got it going REALLY good (ha...ha...ha). I'd watch to see when those improvements kick in, b/c it will be a really great experience then.
New gameplay style, plus with the caverns giving a tremendous bonus to the surface (as I recall, controlling the cavern gives you all SIX modules at any linked base to the caverns, and those benefits transfer further through the lattice...that's way too much of an advantage to be ignored anymore). Maybe we'll see an end to all the battles being poplocked. :groovy:
Oh yeah, they re-did the poplocks so you can't zerg people into oblivion anymore without a chance for them to fight back. The caps are set at 33% for all empires. With the increase of even fights, there's an increase in more stable (key word: more) front lines.

Hold off on the xpack until you've decided you want to stay, it's not really worth it now but they are making some changes, but by all means come back for a while.

No harm in giving it a go, besides the loss of like $12. If you contact customer support, they might reinstate your old characters which probably got wiped.

If my char still comes up in the data base at the main site is it still wiped?

it may be, mine was. They will only give u 1 of your old char's back if it got deleted so make sure which one u want. I got my br13/cr2 one back, ive had guys who got their br5/cr0 back instead of asking for their br20/cr5 just make sure u specifiy.

LOL Incom, when you said that it sounded like you were saying that PLanetside isn't really worth it right now :D . Just to clarify for Slev; Planetside is most definitely worth getting back into, but Core Combat is an over-priced piece-of-shit.
