Get a cell phone, and a land line. Call yourself. Now, if you have about a 1/4 second delay or so like mine, then this works. Put both phones to your ears.

With me? Good.

Now try and say a 20-40 word sentence without talking really funny.

Bet you can't do it.

Yea, you can have similar fun with the voice volume setty thing in XP, or voice_loopback 1 in Half-Life or one of its many mods.

thats the same reason they tell you to turn your radio down if you call into a live radio broadcast. to listen to yourself and speak at the same time, is...tricky at best.

problem with those is they also add a 7 second delay alot of times and THAT will screw you up to no end.

most of the time, the only reason they do that is to prevent feedback.
