My mouse (lazer) is dead. The little red light that is suppose to show ain't showing, I tryed playing with the cord which made it flicker, but now its just dead.

Fix? New mouse? Price? Help? How do i close windows with the keyboard? Basic key combo's i should already know?

Hit some buttons, it'll crash eventually. If that takes too long hit the windows button -> and then hit "u"

Just press the Windows key and go to Shut Down.

You can use tab to move to the start button to shut the machine off, or you can do a ctrl + alt + delete.

Depending on what mouse you have, many optical wired first generation mice had faulty soldering. If you feel comfertable you could probly solder it back into working order.

The simple solution here is to press the power button. :D

If you recently bought the mouse, return it to the store and exchange it for a different brand. If not, just get a new mouse! They're relatively inexpensive anyway, and the benefits are well worth it.

In the meantime, pressing the Alt key and then using the arrows will allow you to access the menus in an application, and Tab will let you move between items (text boxes, buttons, etc.) on a web page. If you want to quickly close a window, press Alt-F4.

Easy just keep pressing tab to get to your internet program, press tab to get to the address bar, press tab to get to the forum link, press tab to get to the link, press tab to get to the post button.

You might as well get a new one, it sounds like your Sodering has come lose or you wore out the inards of the USB cord, a decent mouse cost $20 (you can get an MX300 thats just as accuarate as teh 500 and 700 just without all the buttons)

How could you see your monitor from 10 feet away?

The MX900 has a range of 30 feet but it costs roughly $100's

Unless your using a 36 inch+ tv screen as your monitor, or your tower is 6+ feet from your monitor, its almost impossible to use a mouse more than 3 feet away from a monitor because you wouldn't be able to see anything.

He could be using some good binoculars with lense filters so it doesnt hurt his eyes. Its pretty much standard on binoculars and all veiwing lenses now.

And dont knock it till your tried it. Cant you still get a simple magnifiying screen to put over your moniter that just increases the moniter image externaly to a larger size. He could technically increase a 20" to like a 30" pretty easy. Or more. Or have they completely stopped making those little gadgets.

My friend still works at a movie theatre, and through my work we have a LCD projector that is crazy expensive. So we take the MX900 and we use it in the bottom rows and play computer games on a 50 by 70 foot screen. It is nice and the mx900 works in the theatre auditorium for about 25 feet away.
