OK... I've gone through the PS 10 day or whatnot trial, and want to subscibe. But I want to know how much it is first, because... well, my monthly allowance is 13 bucks...
Is the subsciption a flat monthly rate, or playing hours, etc.? What is it, exactly?

Monthly allowance of 13 bucks? Someone has cheap parents. But seriously, the monthly fee for PS is 13, so you would be flat out broke.

Time to beg and weep at my parents' knees again...

tip: discuss hand/eye coordination, an obvious real-life advantage from playing PS.
say you'll make it up to them when you get a job as a pilot.
it works.

Sell your blood until your parents pay you a decent allowance.

Remember also, that if you opt for the three, six month or one year sub, it works out to a little less. Enough left for some gum or something.

i get $1.40 a week (im 14 and .10 per year)
They do pay for ps though because the set so many damn rules and it would be evil to make someone pay 13 dollars to use ps on weekends after all homework, chores ect is done

Do yourself a favor.. if you really intend to play for a while.. saveth thy cash and buy a years worth subscription. It's $120 for 12 months giving you.. *drumroll* $10 monthly fee with a $36 savings over the year compared to monthly subscription. Mmmmm, sweet, sweet $3 savings a month.

Get a lawnmower and go cut grass.
Still snow on the ground? Get ye a shovel and go around to the elderly shoveling snow.
Cars need washing too.
I'm sure somewhere around you there's yards that need weeding or some other job.
Check around your neighborhood...there's probably some odd job that you can do for money. Hell, cut one lawn for $15 and you've got a month of PS right there...plus money to cover the gas for the lawnmower.
If you live in an apartment complex, I'd recommend finding out if anyone has children that need babysitting. Yes, they're little monsters, but even at the rate of $4 an hour, it's just one night a month you need to do it (I have a friend who used to make $50 a week babysitting on the weekends).
There are tons of jobs you can do around the area if you just go out and work. Relying on parents as your primary source of income sucks, especially since they can tell you what you can and can't do with the money (if they don't like how you spend the money they give you...they stop giving you). Make it yourself, they don't normally say anything because *you* worked to earn it.
Of course, I don't care anymore now that I have a salaried job that covers my house, my car and my PS :D
Save up then buy a 6 month subscription for 70 bucks.

That would be evil? You have absolutely no idea what reality is going to do to you in a few years. You'll be looking back thinking about how great you had it.

There's no real jobs around here at the moment. The thaw's just coming through, so no snow shoveling, and the grass is just mud for now, so no lawn mowing. Babysitting, possibly... if I can find some kids that need it around here... :bang:

Yea, when I was 14 I had a couple of yards that I mowed on a regular bases and got $15 to $20 a yard. I did that a couple of times a month and I was set. :)
In the fall I'd go rack leaves and in the spring I'd clean gutters. Wasn't glamorous, but I always had more money than my friends and by the time I was 16 I had enough saved up to pay cash on the spot for a '76 Cutlass Supreme. $900 bucks and she was all mine. I miss that car sometimes. :(

I don't get paid an allowance at all, but I convinced my dad to pay for PS. I do pay for everything else myself though. If I have it, I paid for it, garaunteed.
I hope Best Buy hires me...:(
How old do you have to be to work there? I need a job really bad. I'll have my car in about 5 months and I have to start saving. This comp has left me broke.
Edit: Speaking of cars, get this. My friend thinks he can fix his '89 camaro and drop a 350 HP V8 in for under 3-4k. Lol, he won't listen to reason. The body work alone will cost that much . The whole body is rusted. The car is a piece of scrap. The underbody is falling apart and the interior has mold. Sorry, I had to tell someone that would listen, since he obviously won't.

The thing is, I'm only 13, and I've started begging my dad for a rust bucket. The logic is that by the time you have enough money and can finish all the work, you'll be just elegible to drive!
