View Full Version : New Cert Idea

If this has already been thought of before...oh well.
Anyway here is my idea for a new cert type.
Weapons Training-for 4 cert points you would be able to purchase 1 empire specific weapon used by another empire from terminals, provided you already had the cert for that weapon type. And if you wanted to change it you could, just like dropping certs, you would only be able to drop 1 every 24 hours.
Opinions?

The point of having empire specific weapons is to classify each empire, not make them avalible due to a cert.

ohh, me wants MCG's. I like. But then again, that would hurt the empire specificness of the game.
Ohh specificness, new word!

I like the idea but then again i dont. There are more minuses then pluses to it. The good things are we get the weapon(s) we want. Bad thing is like silverlord said is that the empires would start to get pissed off. We need to keep diversity in this game. I wouldnt mind having it but i also dont want TR or VS running around with jackhammers and im sure the VS and TR feel the same way.

God there is nearly no deviation in the empires as is lets not just go and make them the same.

Cool because Cyclers are so much better than guass, but it would runin some aspects of the game.

Yah, Nazi Germany and the United States both used almost the exact array of weapons systems, and yet for some reason in the future, they use totally different and in many cases inferior weapons so they can tell each other apart.
Empire Flavor sucks. Bad. Hacked enemy terminals should produce enemy assets. As it is, you can stock up a locker full of enemy gear, it's just that it takes a lot of extra time and risk to loot on the battlefield, and in a game with so many arbitrary time penalties, yet another chore is the last thing the game needs.

Nope, don't like it. If they did this then they would be people saying you should be able to cert other empires tanks or buggies. Part of the charm in the game is the different weapons each empire has.
Do like everyone else does, get a friend on the other side to trade or loot on the battle field. That is unless of course you're in a zerg where the freakin backpacks deconstruct instantly... that really pisses me off.

Vet, this is old: The game is not about realism, period. I like being different from the other Empires, and this game would lose much of it's excitement if anything was the same

I like being different from other empires, too. That's why I play NC now. Being different for NC means being superior, period. TR has no Phoenix, no Vanguard. Empire flavor for TR means inferiority, pure and simple.
Only VS can rival the NC, and without Phoenix, they rival it poorly.
Maybe this will change. For now, NC own. Period.

Mmm, not really. ATM, I believe that the VS have a better HA weapon than the NC, if only slightly. However, the Pheonix is obviously better than the Lancer. And, of course, the TR are just plain screwed over :( .

When the Striker lonk on bug gets fixed, maybe we may come up to par with everyone.
Hopefully the Striker will get a damage buff too.
Ohh specificness, new word!
Specificity.
