A race

Why not set up a race. Anyone can join, any vich, no rules, around a iland. What do you think. Just for fun.

I hope you meant only land vehicles, otherwise the skeeter wins, plain and simple.

You need resources to set this up, and if your plan is bounded within your one sentence, then this has no chance of happening.

Things to think about:

How do you keep land troops from shooting everyone down, or mining the raceway?
Are there checkpoints, and how do you verify a lage number of people driving at 80KPH?
Who is allowed to compete?
Is this a single large race, or is it a tiered system fo racing with qualification races and preliminaries?

i like the idea, you could have events like a bike race then a car race etc, and the winners could have a race at the end......

It wont work unless you do it on off hours...like around mindnight. If you do it around main stream time it will just get runined by some guy in a reaver

It would be much simpiler to manage a race from Point A to Point B using any route the racers choose for themselves. You could fire the starting gun, hop in a mossie, and fly to the finish-line to see who wins.

I would reccomend filming the finish.

How about a sort of "Tour De Auraxis" race were you start at say cyssor and end of solsar. :D

Here's an idea. Have only 30 people in the race, form a platoon, draw a course on the map, and have at it!

actually, all you need is a few CR5's to spam it a bit a week before the race, hold it at prime time.

basic things you need:
1)locked continent
2)a rather straight route without too many water ways and cliffs
3)a specific veichle. otherwise the ATV will own all. on the last day of beta there was an ANT race on emerald for example. I wouldn't use tanks and such, not really fun to drive and if they start shooting each other the race is over :D
4)lots of reavers and mossies flying around, they'll see the leaders and all, make sure nobody spawns and gets an ANT near the finish line.
5)a CR5 running the show.

what I would do is tell everyone to get in their cars in the CY of some tech plant, to make it easy to get reavers. give the go by firing an orbital strike and have a friend set one up at the finish line. first person in the beam is the winner and gets his head blown off as a reward :D

I like it. Maybe we could have one of the Devs or the CSR's to lock a continent for us, or to make it a no-fire zone.

Then again you could do mono-empire races in the Sancs or just go to test.
