My friend has an enitre scrap book with " The Onion" news articles in them. They are so bizarre.

I love the onion. I saw thing thing about how Mcdonald's had a mascot called "Hamurderer" but it was too controversial so they dropped it. they were developing a dramatic end for the character, such as a hostage standoff with the police ending in his death, but they just decided to scrap the whole thing.
