I got this idea from a different thread but dont you think we need to advertise PS just a bit more. We are loosing people everyday and I just think we need more advertisment and commercializing. Just a thought to make the game a little more exciting.(and some new newbs to beat up)!

This is the exact same thread except you used the word advertise instead of commercial. This was currently being discussed in the other thread, no need to create a new one.
Edit: I agree, i am yet to see a magazine add, t.v. commercial, or anything of that sort
Actually, there are tons of ads in gamer magazines on PS. In fact theres just about one in every magazine. There just needs to be more mass media coverage. The casual gamer doesn't read pc gaming magazines all that often...

Nah, there's that core combat one with the VS guy screaming at the reader.

Why does everyone always just repeat what I say?

They need to make the game more interesting is what they need to do. Most gamers know about this game. I think most gamers have tried the game but got quickly bored. The game has an addictive personality for a while but then it dies out.

yes and yes... improve on game... more advertising...
I mean i do personal advertising for it by word of mouth but that only goes so far. THis isn't Linux where word of mouth will sendit across the world and back.

Yes, we do need more advertising, but please leave it in one thread. Hamma/Marsman/Strygun, please close this one down.

Modum, Bio BH is having a stronger Presence in PSU than our own forum... Slightly embarassing to say the least. As command in BH is PSU staff should we just ask if we can make a small BH subsection?

Ya, I'm not sure you guys grasp the concept of advertising.
Effective adverising advertises stricktly to your target market. Your goal is to spend as little as possible and cover the areas where your target market will see the adds.
So the is a Video Game so they want to advertise to gamers. So they put adds in Game magazines, websites, and so forth. They advertise to people that have a strong interest in not only gaming but online gaming, people that would be willing to pay monthly charges to play a game.
Quality advertising is better than quantity.
Plenty of people know about planetside, but they don't find it worth their time to play or they try it, bore of it, quit it and move on.

Exactly. While it might be effective to run, say, UT2K4 adds on cable TV, those adds would be targetted at people who would be willing to blow people away for a small initial charge. Because Planetside is Pay-For-Play, Sony only targets it at hardcore gamers, people who would be willing to waste... err, spend $13.00 a month to play a game.
