Me and my dad often play computer games together. We just can't find a game that we both enjoy playing and are good at. I usually drag him into a game of bf1942 and promptly pwn him. I even got him to try PS out on a free trial. He was a MAX and commonly died to spitfires. Thats how much he sucks at FPS's. The only game he really likes are RTS's like Homeworld. He says he would play through the single player campaign if he had the time. The only problem with those is that I kick his ass if we go head to head, and we kick the comps ass if we play on a team. (unless the comp is on hard, then it owns us) I also don't enjoy RTS's that much and can still own him at them. What game would work for us to play together?

hmmm. maybe get him on an MMORPG if he has the time.

otherwise let him practice up on FPS games, perhaps he will improve.

Nice squading with you the other night Jaged.

If he likes RTS, try StarCraft, its one of the best strategy games ever, and you two can team up and against people on battle.net. Just look for a newbie game if niether of you have played and work your way up.

He dosent have any time. And he dosen't like FPS's enough to practice them. On top of that, most FPS's make him dizzy after about a half hour to two hours of playing because of inner ear problems.

Edit: I diddn't see marines post.

We tried starcraft. He stinks to high heaven at it like most games, and there is no efective handycap. I suck at that game to, so even newbies would paste us.

If he has an hour atleast, then Starcraft should work. Even if he leaves, you can continue the game, just ask "Ally at end?" since its an unfair match, and everyone will get credit for a win.

Neverwinter Nights.

You can play through the original campaign, save anywhere, and work as a team, and there isnt that much tactical skill involved. Plus the uber D&D character customization options.

RPGs are good, since the skill that counts the most is the character's and not the player's. If possible, get an MMORPG that doesn't require hours of playtime per day to be enjoyable.

I can't think of any MMO's that don't take alot of time...

Name one.

Starcraft is all about style... if you like the throw away units go zerg... the hard hitters go toss... the average go terran... each is strong in their own respect and have some rather awe-inspiring units. The terran's with their ability to nuke, the Protoss with their might warbirds and sheilds, and the zerg with the ability to burrow and suprise attack...

Savage is a game where you have 2 commanders and a bunch of soldiers (in a multiplayer game). There are two sides, Human and Beast. You can either be a soldier (fps view) or a commander (rts view). The commander can order the soldiers around, and I think it shows like a waypoint, but the soldiers dont have to follow the orders. The commander can also send gold to the soldiers so they can get better weapons.

That's all I really know about it, and some might be wrong. I've never played it. Don't even know if it's out yet... I think it came out in August.

EDIT: yep. It's out. go to www.s2games.com

savage is the best game ever and anyone who tells you otherwise is a horrible liar and should be sentenced to death

they recently added a patch that balances the game a whole bunch and gives each race a healer class. i'm having loads of fun playing it

Savage isnt bad, but you need quite a few people to have fun playing it.

The environments look like something out of a fantasy painting. The colours are some of the richest I have ever seen. It's a pretty good game, but not worth the $90 (CDN) price tag I payed for it.

Bah, the people playing that game would never letmy dad play commander. He would make us loose horribly.

If he sucks at FPS, he'll hate Savage. I'll be he'd like Medieval: Total War. I've heard nothing but good things about it, and it seems kinda like a dad kinda game as well.

BC, the PAST is 7.5%, combined with the PST makes a total of 14.5%

I bought the game shortly after it was released however. Still, videogames should not be $90 expensive at release, especially since I didnt even get a jewel case with it.
