don't get the Expantion right away, wait for teh enhancements to se if they pan out.

Unless ofcourse your pattents are buying it for you

Don't buy Core Combat. By all means, though, buy planetside.

I hate to say this, but after you see the devestation of the flail and the maelstrom (weapons only available with the expansion), you may feel compelled to shell out the cash if only to keep up with the joneses. Right now the expansion isn't worth it, but those weapons may tempt you.

I've been playing for a while after cc and I can't say I've ever felt intimidated by the maelstrom. I've been beaten into the ground by flails, but the idea of firing one seems a little boring.

I suggest you buy Planetside and Core Combat both very good.

The maelstrom is the best HA by a long shot. It combines the advantages of SA and HA into a package more powerful than both with a nearly unlimited clip and longer range. Need I say more?

Maelstrom has a short range, and the energy ball takes up 10 shots now. Plus, 150 isn't nearly unlimited unless you're in an SOI that has an equipment mod.

Maelstrom has a short range. Heh, doesn' all HA have a short range? (I've never use the Maelstrom...)

Though the caves themselves are poorly designed the weapons are not the are a great addition. But the Flail is dangerous you might get 300 kills with it then that spot dies down and you try and find another spot and you can't find one as good, it's like a bad addiction and hazardous to your grief.

Get planetside and if you are interested enough in Crash Combat pick it up ;-)

1. Huh?

2. Probably a nickname for Close Combat. Where'd you hear it?

1) Yes, they have allowed animation culling (reducing the quality of animations to compensate for slower systems) to be turned off. Forget if it actually works though.

2) Crash Combat = Core Combat...I'll give the PSU users the benefit of the doubt and assume that was a sarcastic remark to the various bugs that have plagued CC off and on. The Core is a really cool place IF you can get people down there...until those improvements go in though, that's an enormous IF.

damn so the animation for getrting in and out of vehicles is all gay and choppy?

They're no worse than they've ever been. Sometimes you'll get lagged and it'll take a while, but that's lag, not culling.

Culling was when they reduced the number of frames of animation so that a guy running in the distance looked like something out of the original Mario Brothers (if anyone remembers the pipes and turtles).
